Tens of thousands of immigrant rights advocates from across the country have been marching in protest of federal legislation that would build more walls along the U.S.-Mexico border and make helping illegal immigrants a crime. The massive demonstration, by far the biggest of several around the nation in recent days, came as President Bush prodded Republican congressional leaders to give some illegal immigrants a chance to work legally in the U.S. under certain conditions. How messed up is it, that so many people think it is alright for illegal immigrants to have the same rights as US citizens. Yet when the GLBT community marches for the same kind of request for equal rights... is wrong.Yeah for Canada and Massachusetts. Equal rights for everyone… including the gay tax payer.

Equal human rights and Immagration

I don't understand that... why should someone who is in this country illegally be allowed more rigts than the people who are citizens? It boggles my mind. I live in a town where there a lots of illegal aliens from Mexico and do people care? No, because they do the hard work for the farms in this town. I don't agree with that. >>How messed up is it, that so many people think it is alright for illegal immigrants to have the same rights as US citizens. Yet when the GLBT community marches for the same kind of request for equal rights... is wrong.I don't understand it hon, it angers me that the government and everyone else under the sun are preaching about equality but yet homosexuals and heterosexuals aren't equal. We're all human right? We're all part of this nation so why can't we be treated the same?Sorry.... I'm going to start ranting but it's too early in the morning to get aggrivated lol

This is one iM not even getting into, but Ill add this to it.
Illegals cause many many problems.
in January we found out that my fiances social had been used
when we had the state tell us that they were reducing childsupport that her x pays her because of her making too much working at two jobs.
she only has one. since we go the information f3 people here in utah have been arrested and deported over workig under her social and after running a trace there is more in virginia, california, montana, idaho, florida and fuck only knows where.
Ill also tell you this, if you go to another country no one makes an effort to bow to you and post shit in 2 or more languages. If your in the US, learn to speak english and read it and write it, I dont give a fuck what you speak at home, thats your home your own little country do what ya like but dont get pissy wiht me because you want directions and cant speak english and dont understand what the hel Im saying whe you hand a address on a piece of paper and ask me "how i get here"
this whoe subject pisses me off to no end so I think I have to attempt to avoid it  but only after I click continue on this particular post -
I think illegal immigration is a HUGE problem that needs to be dealt with ASAP. We have to stop importing poverty.
This whole "immigrants rights" thing pisses me off. It's deceitful. It's not about "immigrant rights". It's about "illegal immigrant" rights. They are ILLEGAL. They get no rights. If the guy who robbed a liquor store in a drunken rage and spent 10-15 in prison where he was rehabilitated got sober and found Jesus and now wants to work with kids at the local Y to help keep them off the streets has to live the rest of his life having lost rights, why should we clamour to give them to ILLEGAL immigrants who, according to popular brain-dead wisdom, are an economic burden?
Yeah...that's how I feel about it.

In many ways, aren't illegal immigrants a way of keeping labor in the US? Cheap labour is being exported around the world to such places as China, Indonesia, etc; and this creates both awful disparity (and often times poor working conditions, even though the workers make more than the average worker of the region) in those countries. With this there will be disparity, but the immigrants will be working in the US and spending in the US rather than being payed to work in another country. That's just may bringing up the opposite side of the argument. I personally don't have strong opinions on the issue, although I don't like in an area that is strongly affected by illegal immigration.

Damn Chance...
Amen to reading, writing and speaking English. I know if I went to live somewhere deep in Mexico, they wouldn't starting writing everything in English just for me...LOL They wouldn't give a damn...
It's time for this country to stop bending over and getting fucked in the ass just because it's afraid to grow some balls. It's time to start handing all of them a one way tickets across the border...GO THE FUCK BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM! STAY OUT OF THIS COUNTRY!!!
I had the same frickin problem. A good while ago, I received a letter from the state telling my unemployment benefits were canceled and I needed to repay the state several thousand dollars because I had apparently been working the entire time I was collecting benefits.
It took several months but I filed a petition and launched an investigation. Two Mexican immigrants were arrested and detained by the INS. I finely got my benefits back after a nasty fight. I had to prove everything was mine and that they were at fault using my SSN.
I have absolutely no idea what happened to them. I assume they got their wrist slapped, they said sorry and were dismissed from their employment... but probably were still able to still collect food stamps and welfare on my ticket....

Illegal immagration is a real pain, indeed. Everyone knows that and I don't think illegal immigrants should have the same rights with a citizen (for many known reasons). On the other side, I'm not against immagration. If you can actually help someone to have a better life, why not? I believe there are good proofs in history that immagrants actually help the development of a country. Finally, illegal immigrants are still human beings and this is a good reason for giving them some rights....
-
I think your first paragraph is a very well spoken sentiment. I would wager a guess that folks who go through the trouble to come to America and go through the legal process of becoming a citizen are probably mostly the kinds of folks who are prone to become prodictive citizens who help the positive development of a country. And while I would agree that even illegal immigrants, by virtue of being human, deserve basic human rights, they don't deserve the constitutional rights afforded to citizens. And those are the rights that are in question.

Rights which, in the case of Mexico, are fully protected in their own country. These guys have broken the law, treat them like criminals (who do of course have rights, but not the right to vote or to work under normal conditions, or to do much of anything).

In reply to: I believe there are good proofs in history that immagrants actually help the development of a country. Their are also examples from history of the contrary. It all depends on whose doing the emmigrating and whose the recieving people. I'd guess Mexicans are of the better variety. In reply to: If you can actually help someone to have a better life, why not? For sure. But what about heelping them in their own country? I'm not opposed to all immigration, I'm just saying.
-
For sure. But what about heelping them in their own country? I'm not opposed to all immigration, I'm just saying. This is a good idea, but this won't stop immigration. People always travel to find a better future On the other side, I like experiencing other cultures in my own country. I don't believe in a purified "culture" without any mixture from others. Through mixtures and filters, evolution comes faster Back to our subject, I know UK's situation and I can understand any doubts about immagration. Of course, everythything must come with a measure and there should be a better distribution of immigrants. A country can accept immigrants, since they'll be productive there.

In reply to: This is a good idea, but this won't stop immigration. For sure but we should encourage people to stay in their own country, for the benefit of their own country. Many developing countries are churning out soem great minds in the form of doctars and lawyers and the like, but they lose them to other countries in the 1st world, which in turn gives less oppertunities for the native population. Not to say their shouldnt be any emmigratioon, the NHS in the UK really NEEDS Indian doctars and nurses at the moment. But I believe the international community needs to find incentives for keeping the 3rd worlds precious skilled workforce, IN the 3rd world, for the benefit of all. Exactly how one would do this, is hard to say.
