Do we have any dog owners here?I'm thinking of getting a Yorkshire terrier! Wont be til we move out of this rented place to our own house so a few months yet, but I got to give it some real though first. I am well excited! But its not even deffinate yet, I dont know if its a good ide aor not, though it deffinately would have to be a small dog like a Yorkshire terrier.

Dogs

I am the owner of two dogs, and Italian Greyhound and a Shih-poo. My mother owns two Yorkshires and they have always been good dogs.
Hint on them though, unless you are going to spend the time each day to comb the hair, keep them with a normal terrier cut. Plus the terrier cuts are very very adorable.

Thanks for the advice! How much would that cut cost and how regularly would I have to get it done? And yes their very very VERY cute little things!(interesting thought I have, being a trainee hairdresser I wonder if I could learn to do the cut, hmmmmm)

Two Pomeranians here. Don't have a yard so the smaller the better. I grew up with large breed dogs.. Shepherds and such.. Love 'em.
-
A smaller one is best for me cos I like my space and we may end up in a flat for a little while, inbetween houses.I've never had a dog ebfore so this is all new territory for me!

Not sure how prices go in the UK, a terrier cut here goes for like $25-$30, and they only need one once ever 2-3 months depending how fast their hair grows. The cut is very simple, and something, being a hairdresser, you can probably learn how to do. Simply ask the dog groomer if you can watch him/her a few times. If my sister can do the grooming and she has no hair cutting experience I am sure you can do it as well hehe

cats are better than dogs

i have a jack russell terrier and an old black lab...the terrier loves to play ball...24/7...
-
let's not start the awsome dogs VS. stupid cats thing again! That took weeks to flush out of here last time
-
I like big dogs better personally, I just got a Greater swiss mtn. dog/lab mix.

it would be very un-afraidtoask not to start an arguement lol

Get a real dog mate, just coz ur a yorkie doesent mean you should get one, a rat'll probablly eat it or something lol.We got a Labrador, was about £180 i imagine something smaller will be less but make sure you get a good quality pedigree and not one that'll go blind and its legs freeze up after 5 minutes! Since they dont sell 'em on Ebay, it may be worth contacting the RSPCA they can probably get in in contact with someone repuatable.

We have 2. A Australian Shepherd and a Pembroke Welch corgi.

A big dog just wouldnt work for me. We need the space and we may end up in a small flat temporarily soon while my parents divorce is sorted out.

I'd prefer a hot dog right now...

I'd rather have a Gyro

I'd rather have a GyroAmazing! How do you know this?

I have 2 Jack russells they don't need trimming but they're maulting (sp?0 like buggery at the moment so hair everywhere. Lively little things but pretty cheap to keep apart from yearly vacinations and the old castration (oooooo I am evil!!). I have a bitch as well who is due to be "done" so you need to decide male or female as my female has had 2 seasons now which can be pretty messy to be honest and last a few weeks sometimes. Not good for the cream suite!! In fact if you fancy having a jR I can personally bring you mine and you can have them!!
