It occured to me today that purhaps one explanation in the large increase in divorce (apart from less social pressure, and a laxing of the laws) is that families nowadays are smaller.
The best functional, happiest families I've come accross as are large ones, with 4 or more kids. Now why would this be? Well spending your entire life with 1 or two other people is bound to be hard. But surely if yoou spend it with 6, then things would be easier, yoour not stuck with the same people all the time, if you feel tension starting between you and one person in the family you have others to lean on.
Any thoughts?
