Blood pressure is something that needs to be checked. It varies by so much between people.

Ok, let me see if I can be succinct...
Blood pressure is regulated by a few things:;cardiac output, stroke volume, mean arterial pressure to name a few. As has already been mentioned, it varies greatly between people. The national average is 120/70 or some such... There is no way to 'figure' it by using your pulse rate and multiplying anything.
Blood pressure is monitored a couple of ways, the technical way and the good old fashioned standby. The old standby is called a sphygmamonometer, or blood pressure cuff. The high tech way is by hemodynamic monitoring or by a device placed into one of the central veins or an artery.
What you describe to me is a resting heart rate. To measure your resting heart rate you must not be exerting yourself at all, then take the pulse for 1 minute (personally I like the shortcut of 6 secs x 10). The resting heart rate is lower if you are in good cardiovascular health. There are extreme athletes however who have very low resting heart rates, such as Lance Armstrong, I think his was like 40 or something.
Does this help?
