Hey guys, Yesterday I came to the realization that I have muloscum. I was recently in a long relationship and the symptoms showed up towards the end of our relationship. I assumed what was going on was just some acne but that is not the case, so obviously she cheated on me. I recently started seeing another girl and I had unprotected sex with her twice last week. I feel terrible about this, and am wondering what the chances are that I passed the moluscum on to her. Most of my rash is in my pubic area, with only an occasional muloscum on my shaft, and at the time we had sex there were none on my shaft that I know of. Any input would be appreciated.

Chance of passing on muloscum w unprotected sex?

Thankyou for the reply but I was looking for a little more. I spent all night last night doing as much research on the virus as I could so I know the basics and obviously i know that it is possible that I spread the virus to this girl. What I was more looking for was something like how contagious this virus is. As in is it 90% that she will be getting it or is it something more like 25%? I realize that this is a very tough question and that the actual answer may not even be known but I am pretty much just wishing here....so any help with that would be greatly appreciated. I have spoken with a friend of mine who also had this and who also had unprotected sex with a partner quite a few times and she did not contract the virus, so this makes me feel slightly better.

That is a difficult question, and will need a search of the primary literature - try PubMed. It's not going to be easy to find.

I wouldn't sweat it my friend. I aquired that wonderful problem a few years back. It will linger for a little while and will go away. Most people have already been affected by it, but their bodies built up an immunity to it kind of like chicken pox. The majority of people are unaffected by it basically. I still to this day have no idea how I contracted it. It could have been this one girl, but later found out this A-Hole of a temporary roommate I had was using my towel and my other roommates towel after showering. Needless to say, but he got the boot shortly there after. I honestly had quiet a few partners after that time and never passed it on to anyone. Hope this helps!

Yes, you can certainly get it from sharing towels.

"I honestly had quiet a few partners after that time and never passed it on to anyone"Yes this makes me feel a whole lot beter....thankyou. I actually just realized something about the girl that gave this to me. When we first started dating she did not have one blemish on her entire body....after about 3 or 4 months her face broke out pretty badly and no matter what she tried she could not get rid of the acne.....she claimed that she really never had a pimple in her whole life and now she had very bad skin......she also would always say that I somehow was the cause of her acne.....now this has me really curious.....I seriously think there is a chance that she had molluscum all over her face and thats how she gave it to me....I never saw any blemish on her down south....I guess I'll never know though

Who knows bud. Virus's are weird and all it takes is for one to come in contact with your body on a bad day and BAM! I never really looked into it, but can you get it on your face? I mean that would look pretty nasty with a bunch of whiteheads all over your face. They tried giving me some acne precription med cream to put down there and let me tell you, I would have rather pissed razor blades. Doctor told me when I came back in, that there would be some minor discomfort with the ointment and I would be fine. I then dropped my drawers and showed him how my entire crotch and inner thighs was raw flesh. The ointment is supposed to shed the skin off your face, but when you have it down there and sweat, it spreads everywhere. He then told me I didn't have to use it anymore. I just waited it out and plucked the white part off as soon as I saw one forming. I would then be sure to clean well as to avoid infection. I would say after about 6 months I ever saw one again.

yeah you can get it anywhere on your body.....actually its not even really an STD but in yours and my case it was technically an std because it was passed sexually....or mine was at least....I'm sure yours was too if it was just in your pubic region. If that was mulloscum on her face it didn't look THAT bad....it just looked like she had a bit of acne.....and when I first met her there wasn't a blemish in sight so I actually do believe that it was molluscum. So 6 months you say....Man I would love to get rid of this sooner than that but I think I may have already had it for 2-4 months....it really has not spread much at all, since I don't scratch it at all.
