I am not quite sure if this is normal.
I have always sucked at aiming and I only piss standing when I am outside like in restaurant or at school cause then I don't have to clean it up when I accidentally piss all over.
But the thing is this, my piss doesn't come out of the urethra in a straight line. I mean it's not at a 90 degree angle.
My piss always comes out an angle of maybe 70 degree. I ask myself if this is normal. Shouldn't it come to in a totally straight line?
What could be causing it to come out not straight?

I piss at an angle
-
I assume you pull your foreskin back at least part-way? If so, it's probably just the way you are made, a little assymetric - no big problem, but annoying for aiming.
-
No that is not the explanation. Even if I pull it back totally then the stream doesnt come out straight. I dont know why.Could it be that there is something in the urethra which makes it come out at an angle of 70 degree? But since I never had any problems I also dont really want to investigate this further. I just ask myself if it usually should come out in a straight line.
-
So do I. About the same, 20 degrees to the left. That isn't as annoying as spraying, which I do sometimes. Not sure why it varies, but as long as you can go, it is no concern.
-
Just like me! I also piss to the left. That's weird.
-
most annoying is if your pissing straight then suddenly it changes and you piss all over a towel or something.
PS. if its usually the same stand on an angle :P

Hi guys,
I needed to know how many males also piss at an angle. It's not a foreskin issue. Even if I pull it back totally and then hold the penor is a straight line then it doesn't come out in a straight line. There are at least 20 degrees to the left sometimes even more. Sometimes it goes straight to the left side at almost 90 degrees!!! How is this possible? Could this mean that something is wrong with the urethra? Should I go to a urologist and tell him I can't piss in a straight line? :frowning:
Then he will probably recommend inserting a camera in the urethra and this is sick. I couldnt do this without general anaesthesia. Once I got an urethra swab and it already made me pass out. :frowning: -
It wouldn't be anything wrong with the urethra, just an asymmetry at the meatus (the hole where it comes out). Does it cause you serious problems? If it doesn't it is best left alone.
-
the only problem it causes is that i cannot really aim and usually create a mess when pissing in public. sometimes it also comes out in a straight line but usually not.i just worried that there could be something in the urethra which makes the urine beam come out at an angle. I also noticed that the beam itself has a twist like an alpha helix. Like when you have a flat paper band which is a few mm wide and then you take the one end of the band and turn it then you get this helix structure. Is this normal?
-
My stream has that flat twist to it. There's nothing wrong with that.I also pee sideways sometimes and it's usually because one side of the hole doesn't line up with the other one, usually due to the confined space in which it resides (my underpants). What helps me is just gently pulling the hole open before peeing.

Just curious. If normal would be your piss coming out aimed at "12 o'clock", where on the clock would your piss usually be aimed? 1 o'clock?2 o'clock?10 o'clock?etc.
-
I'd say it usually comes out at 10 o clock. It's hardly ever really 12 o'clock. And sometimes when I don't have much pressure and it only more or less dribbles out then it's even more to the left. Sometimes when I start peeing and have only little pressure then I've had it go to 9 o'clock which is almost straight to the side but that's only at the beginning when the flow increases then the line becomes straighter but it can really be messy when you start to pee and it goes to the side. I dont know if I should tell a doc about this. I'm also not keen on unnecessary examinations or getting a camera in the urethra.
-
Personally, I would call and make an appointment to see the doctor but go in for a yearly physical and then discuss it then. Let him know you have some concerns about the angle and maybe lack of pressure. Someone your age should not be having low pressure issues. That's usually a sign your prostate is enlarged....so make the appointment. I doubt they would be sticking a camera up your urethra unless they suspected something really wrong

Hypospadias? A "bottom squirter" maybe?
-
I don't think I have pressure issues. When there's not much in the bladder then the pressures also not high. Isn't that normal? When I have a full bladder and am about to piss my pants then I also have a high pressure. But when the pressure isn't high then the stream is never straight but always to the side.
-
Hypospadias, which ScottP14 referred to, is when the pee-hole is lower down, on the underside of the penis.

i sometimes pee in two streams! like a bottom and top stream and sometimes its even a spray between the two. its been like this for as long as i can remember so i dont think weird piss trajectories are anything to be worried about
