Hello,I was wondering about how far I should be able to retract my foreskin, currently it can be retracted all the way when flaccid but when erect I can only pull it past the head and not much further down the shaft. When erect if I try to push it all the way back it begins to hurt as if the circumference/width of the foreskin is smaller then that of my actual penis. So instead the skin just bunches up behind the head of my penis where it is not so wide, it feels fine there, even when I pull it back a little bit more it will just move back to that position anyways. I presume this is not normal and should really retract fully? Would this have any influence when having sex? Thanks!

Foreskin Retraction

Retraction with an erection is going to be principally determined by the length and location of the frenulum. The lower and longer it is, the further down the shaft you will be able to pull it. Just behind the head is just fine if it is comfortable.

Thanks for your reply. I would have assumed during intercourse, and I think it was in on of the anatomy links that the foreskin would move with penetration. Would this not be painful if the skin cannot be pushed fully down the shaft?? Or would I assume that that is what lubrication is for? Also would this be a problem with a condom? Cheers.

If you are in the vagina and she is really dry, then the tugging on the forskin can be very uncomfortable, but if she is wet and/or lube is used, the forskin will go behind the head and you will be fine.
