I was thinking that I MIGHT have something, but isnt sure. I've been itching every now and then, and when I look down there the inside of the sides of my minor labia is a red and a lil swollen but this is only when it starts itching. I've gone to my doctor to have her check if I had a yeast infection, and she didnt find anything wrong but gave me a perscription pill that treats all yeast infections. I took it and still my itching wont go away. I've been holding it for a while I had this itching for a couple years. Sometimes I wont have it for weeks then it comes back and itches every now and then for another few weeks.I was thinking that if this is an std and i've been having this itchiing for a while then can it still be cured? Im scared! I hate to go bak to my doctor for like the 3rd time and tell her that im still itching and that I might have something else. sigh

Can any STD be cured even if you had it 4 awhile?
-
Do go back to the doctor - that's what doctors are for. If you don't tell her the itching hasn't gone away she doesn't know the treatment wasn't effective. Perhaps it's a resistant yeast that needs a different treatment, or perhaps it's a bacterial infection, which can be easily treated with the right antibiotic. Since it comes and goes it might even be a low-grade herpes. You need to get this seen to.

what is low grade herpes? can it be treated?
-
Herpes sometimes doesn't have the usual symptoms of break-outs of blisters. Many people who have it aren't aware they have it at all. It can't be cured, unfortunately. You can get an anti-viral cream that helps keep breakouts more under control.
That's only one of many possibilities. -
Herpes are blisters that form on and around the vagina, they are not ingrown hair boils or little red bumps. Clamydia and Ghonerrea can leave itching and soreness in and around the area, but normaly there is a yellow/greenish discharge that stinks of infection. That is not always true as some never get any symptoms at all but carry it. Long term effects are something like Pelvic Inflamatory Disease and the inability to bear children. Death is possible in the worst stages. The sooner you see a doc the faster you will know and the faster it can be healed if by chance you have anything at all.
