the minute anyone starts dating someone at my school, the first thing they do is say "i love you".i'm sorry but this bugs the hell out of me!i thought those words were supposed to be special.any thoughts?
-
'I love you' isn't special anymore
-
I think "love" is a pretty loose term used by teenagers.
-
They're special when the people mean it. At a young age people don't know what love is really, not when it comes to relationships. They mistake liking someone for loving them. It is all a part of the massive drama that is 'young love'.
-
exactly!i just don't think it should be a loosely used term.

at one time I would of agreed with you, at this point in my life though Im gonna side with bobbo.
-
I love you is special to me...I also believe there are different levels of it as well. I say I love you to family members and friends I consider family, but for when I am in love, I do things as well to show the meaning not just saying it.
-
You can't say "I love you" until you've reached a point in your life when you'd wished you'd said it a long time agoFunny place to be in
-
i agree, i cant c how sum ppl just throw that term around just cuz theyre dateing sum1.i love my freinds and family..but not like that.lolive neva said i love u 2 a guy cuz thats sposta b special, and when i say it i want 2 really mean it!
-
The situation is made hard by having it said to you when you dont feel love but you do care for the person and do want to go out with them. I mean what are you to do? Say to your other half "no I dont love you sorry"? That would suck, cos you genuinely really like the person, and you know they genuinely like you. With a previous gf of mine, I didnt believe she loved me, but she said it all the time. I always said it back cos I very genuinely liked her and cared for her, but I only said it when she said it first.

In reply to:I think "love" is a pretty loose term used by teenagers. Exactly. I was flipping through my old diary the other day. I was in love every other week.
-
im a teenager. i see this all the time. people are like "OMG I LOVE YOU" and chances are its just infatuation and yeah. i agree that its too loosely used.theres a difference between being in like, and being in love.
-
yer, it does suck when ppl say it 2 u first but u dont wanna say it back.its happened 2 me alot, havent no the guy for THAT long and suddenly he "loves" me.sum how ive managed 2 get around hurting any1s feeling in that situation...dont ask me how.lol
-
ok how? lol and not necessarily because love can fit to alot of things ,love for family, love for friends and romantic love i think its just confused far to often
-
i said DONT ask me how....i cant explain, its a gift.lol
-
you flashed em didnt ya......
-
hahahahahano, i managed it without exposeing any body parts. im just skilled.
-
lol ok so how then wonderful master of deception?
-
i donno...i guess it could possibly b the whole "i havent said that 2 any1 b4, and when i do, i wanna really mean it etc" thing that makes them strive 2 win my love just that much harder.lol. or it could b that im awsum and every1 loves me no matter what i do.i donno, maybe im hot. hahaha
