I do.. its a nice thing to do
-
I used to watch those feed the children shows on tv when I was little. Unfortunatley, Im in no position to sponsor anybody right now. When I do get finanically stable, I plan to too.
-
I stopped watching them on TV since they always make me cry! Once i get enough money, i hope i can sponsor alot!
-
Its like what.. a dollar a day? I figure if i take a water bottle to school or work .. instead of buying one.. then i can definetly have enough money to sponsor a child.

That subject is a little touchy with me. We have an impending population crisis with rapidly rising populations in developing countries (where small children and youths make up the majority of the populations). There's families having far too many kids, so that there's a good chance that multiple will survive in the poverty stricken conditions they are living in. Their children may have the same mentality, and by supporting them we are only adding to that cycle of rapid population growth due to high birth rates. In addition, we're pouring resources into something that will only require more resources to support in the future. Here's the other side. If we are bringing up these kids that have some form of education, then it is likely that they will not have as many children (particularily with educated females as can be seen through out history) and they will be able to support themselves and improve the economic situation in their home country. There's also the question of how much money actually reaches these people. Pouring money into countries and expecting things to fix themselves is an awful approach to solving problems. On the other hand, lending a helping hand to children and providing them with an education is probably the best thing that can be done to improve the economic and social situations in poor countries.I'd help a child if I knew that the money was being used effectively to improve their lives and give them a future through more than just feeding their bellies so they can make more children in the same situation. Also, I'd need to be in a position where I actually had a job since I'm not exactly making any consistant money. Always check out the program you're giving into beforehand so you can see what the money will actually be used for.

My Nana does and I want to when I get the money. I'd sponsor a few of them if possible. The letters they send are cute. It's cool to hear and learn about them and their daily lives.

Yea, im not sure if the money people send actually go to the place! like do i get to go see my money and millions of others money being put to use, like making water drinkable hiring protection villages, No! All you get is a letter from the sponsored child how do we even know the child wrote the letter! During the Cold War the Russian created the ' Union of Children ' It doesnt exsits anymore since Americans destroyed it, they though they might use it to recruit the children!! lol its not funny anyway. It the place my aunt put her money in, but she stopped after a while since no Response, Its how it went with Germany too!
