hoping and praying i'm not alone here - over the last eight months or so - i've been finding 'stray' hairs on my breasts - not blonde ones either - man like dense black hairs. thankfully i usually find them right out of the shower and pluck them out - so a man hasn't seen them just wondering if any other women have had this happen? any idea as to what would be causing it? i said something to my mom about it and she looked at me like i was an alien..

Female chest hair?
-
Some people are just hairier than others. However, depending on how much there is and how thick it is things like that can indicate a slight hormanal problem. But from your discriptions it sounds like normal hair growth. I wouldn't worry to much about it.
-
it's normal
-
As the others have said, it is quite normal to get stray hairs on the chest especially around the areola.
-
As far as I know, the more you shave / otherwise remove your hair, the faster and thicker it comes back. Correct me if I'm wrong. So it may be wiser to leave it be if it's not very visible anyhow.
-
No it isnt!! I shaved my moustache, damn its growing back thicker and faster now, but...not darker!
-
Well, I think, it varies on which part of the body you shave it, like armpit hair or beard, both grow diffrent rates for me.
-
As far as I know, the more you shave / otherwise remove your hair, the faster and thicker it comes back. That is not true. As I once said: It doesn't grow faster, and you don't get more hair after you shave. When the hairs grow from scratch they have a tapered tip, which makes the hairs seem thinner and less coarse. But it only seems like it.
-
if the whole thicker/more hair thing were true - i'd have a chest like a man's by now. i've only found 4/5 hairs - and they have been LONG when i found them - but haven't found them on the same place twice yet. since this has been going on since november last year - that should prove the point :-)
-
I have tiny hair on my cheast i can feel but not see.
-
not 100%, I shaved just one part of my chest and I have a big ol patch their of thick hair, proof that it grows thicker.
-
Your eyes are playing tricks. If you took two pictures of before you shaved it and after it grew back, it'd be the same.
-
First of all, how would it grow thicker? What would be the mechanism? The hair grows from the root, pretty far below the surface of the skin. Yank a hair out and you'll see how far below the skin the bulb that the hair grows from is located. If you chop off the tapered tips of the hairs in a patch, it will seem thicker. Let it grow back for a while, as the cut hairs are replaced by new ones, and see how it looks then.

im 16 and i dunno.. like just over a year ago.. i found like 6 or 7 LONG black hairs like a stright pubic hair growing and i like left em.. and thinking they would fall out and i got concious and a few months after i found them i shaved em.. now i just continue shaving and they cannot be seen from a distance when looking in the mirror but i know they are there.. im pretty upset because i know i will have to continue shaving them now.. just like my legs and i once joked to my mates like.. hairy chests and they said yeh they fall out tho.. so i was really embarassed and no one knows.. this is the FIRST time i have openly said anything.. does anyone know if they will stop? or are they always going to be there?? i shave them like once a week.. and they grow really slowly.. like ya eyebrows..
-
They will not go away... I dont understand why you are shaving the hairs.. Most people/women would pluck them out. By plucking it takes much much longer to grow out and it will potentially/eventually kill the root and stop growing.
-
plucking is easier on the skin too no razor burn or irritation.
-
plucking is easier on the skinI'd sure hate to try plucking out my beard.
-
hmm, that's interesting. Sometimes you make me wanna pluck out your beard, one painful hair at a time. hehehe
-
I think its normal.
I have hairs around my breast too, fine ones. Sometimes when they grow too long, I pluck it out. It is not painful actually, much less painful than plucking out pubic hair. -
i imagine for a girl having hair in your chest is not what you want. the only thing that i can say is to have it removed by laser, or get a solution in which diminishes the nourishment of the hair folicles, and thus not growing hair or not much hair. it is genetics. it is something that you are born with, and well you shouldn't have to pay for, i don't know what else to say. it is embarrasing for a girl to talk about this openly, thanks to the internet that brings some anonimity, and helps divulge answers to ackward questions. chest hair, like any genetic trait is part of your genetic pool. there are dominant and recessive genes. anyways, i hope you get a good solution to the problem. but also be grateful for what you have, and the solutions that are available that other women didn't have like modern women have today even thought a hefty fee for the solution.
