Hi allI was wondering how like 16-18 yr old guys get on having sex. When I was 16 i bought some condoms, got very erect, put one on... yet it didnt fit tight at all. The condom could have slipped off there was that much room.I havent tried one on for a while. And all i see is pics of condoms on very tight on men... i dont think i have a small penis either?Normal? Do ALL condoms generally fit tight and wont easily slip off? Based on ages 16-19

Condoms DONT fit

They should be tight. You may have got thicker since you were 16, so try again; but it may just be that you need the narrower ones, so try them too.

Regular condoms are desiged to fit fully grown adult penises. Its possible at 16 that your penis wasn't done growing yet, and the condom was too big. Especially since most guys add girth (thickness) later in puberty - the penis grows mostly in length first, with girth increasing in the last part of puberty. Condom size is based mostly on thickness (girth) of the penis - not length. To measure girth, take a piece of string, and wrap it around the thickest part of your penis, and mark the string where it wraps around once. Then measure the string against a ruler. The following is a general guideline for condom fit:Small condoms (snugger, form fitting, etc.): girth 4.5" and lessRegular condoms: girth 4.5 to 5.5"Large condoms (Magnum, XL, etc.): girth more than 5.5"So measure your girth so you know which condoms you should buy. Chances are your girth has grown since you were 16, and condoms will fit you OK now.

Are condoms not really length-specific?

Also, what type of condoms should I get at my current size? I just measured so it wouldn't be inaccurate, and I measured as accurately as I could (no measuring from the side or underside and rounding and whatnot). My dick is 6.5" long and its girth is 5.75" (which really surprised me at first, because it's increased a lot since I last measured girth (which was a long while ago). What condoms would be most suitable for me? Thanks.

The cost of making a condom is in the manufacturing process, not the materials. It's therefore cheaper to make one length of condom - long - and just have most people not fully unroll it, than to make them in different lengths. Exactly how long that is depends a bit on where they are made. Where I am the standard is 8 1/4", I believe. The only people who are in trouble are those who are very long. Even the wider ones are only a little longer than the standard ones. There are one or two firms that make extra-long condoms as an (expensive) specialty.Congratulations on your increased girth, dude5803. Girth does usually increase later than length. You're now quite thick, on the borderline between regular and large condoms. I think the best thing would be to buy a few different ones and try them on. They should be tight, but not unpleasantly so.

the standard condom size where you are is 8 and 1/4"? why would they make them that long when the avg size is 5-6"
-
They make them much longer than the average penis so that they fit just about any length people might have. (If the condom is longer than the penis, it's no problem, you just don't unroll them fully. If the penis is longer than the condom, it is a problem.)

You should try the regular and the Magnum though, just so you can see which fit you best. That's a really thick girth dude5803 - you should be very happy with that! The ladies love thick cocks - wish I had one that thick!

Hello,
Condoms are made longer to accomodate the foreskin.
The way to install one of these things is to pull back the foreskin all the way, roll on the condom, let the foreskin roll forward and then roill the condom down the remaining shaft. Anyone who mesures over 8" erect with a foreskin covering the glans will have a problem with the length of the condom. -

Your length doesn't really matter for the condom size. Its the girth that matters the most. Your girth is actually right on the borderline between a regular sized condom and a large or Magnum condom.
A regular condom may be a little too tight, and a Magnum may be a little loose. You'll have to try each and see which fits best.
If you go to Trojan's web site, and you're 18 or older, you can request a free sample of a condom. Try a Magnum sample from them, and then just buy regular size condoms to compare.
Unless its uncomfortably tight, like restricting your blood flow tight, I would error on the side of the tighter fitting regular condom. You're safer with a condom that is a bit tight, than one that is too loose and may slip off.
If you try the Magnums, and are confident that they won't slip off, then I'd go with those. Otherwise, the regular condoms should work fine.
