My all time favorite is Stephen King, pick any book aside form tommy knockers and rose matters and you can call it my recomendation.
I loved all the dark tower books and fthe two he wrote with peter straub, The Talisman and Black House.
Hunter S Thompson, John Sanford. Kurt Vonegutt, Papa Hemingway, there several but the first 3 (king thru Sandford - Straub) are my all time favorites, when I was big into sci fi I like piers anthoney alot and Micheal Moorecock too and I used to read alot of the GOR series but no longer could tell ya the authors name. Break it down into specific books and the list grows, its harder to list an author that Iv read al of his shit and loved.Let's agree to respect each others views, no matter how wrong yours may be.

Actually, I'm reading SlaughterHouse-Five, which is the first Vonnegut book for me. However, I'm going to the book store tomorrow to get Breakfast of Champions and another of his books and some other one that's not written by him. They have a 3 for 2 deal.

About 10 years ago i had a story in my head and spent weeks getting it on the puter.......it turned out to be the first of a trilogy of novels, the first was 580,000 words...........unfortunatly i saved it onto floppy disc and when i came to start again last year, it was corrupted..........I lost everything cries
I hope your writing goes well, are you planning on sending it away to be published? What genre is it??? do we get to read a sneaky chapter???? Get a taste of Old Time Religion..........lick a witch grin
Sorry about your story, just thinkin about how long it takes to even get started can't imagine how that would have felt... my own attempt is fantasy i'd guess but so far its more lots of ideas that i haven't quite put together yet, if i do ill be sure to show something... so far its very much a work in progress.
