Tips on boxing

Loads of it, but I dont got the time to put it all here now.
We have been to the races all day and are just stoping home to graba quik bite and then off tothe beach (Great Salt Lake) but ill bookmark this thread as a favorite and fill it in when I have some time this weekend or early in the week.
Till then Id start looking into videos and books about boxing, watch as much boxing as you can so you can see proper postions and tactics, all that good shit. -
Buy a punching bag!I have the same problem as you.. I used to play hacky sack, and when you drop the hacky you get hit in the arm by everyone... So when ever I got to hit someone they would always tell me how weak I hit..So I got a punching bad and started beating the crap out of it, and I do believe I can hit much harder now. My brother inlaw has a black belt in karate and he was over last christmas showing me how to punch better and stuff. One thing he kept telling me to do (For Jabs) was to keep my elbows straight with my body and not let them stick out.You also want to get a good stance so you can have enough space to extend your arm properly. Try changing postitions and stuff. Alot of people I see fighting are always straight facing the person, but when I punch I like to turn to the side so that you are harder to be phushed down and one arm has more room to fly. So try standing with one leg behing the other and try it with both legs.I don't know much about boxing/fighting but this is what my brother inlaw was telling me to do alot.I am also interested in hearing what the guy above me has to say about punching.
