Just wondering how long it takes for smegma to appear and does it really look like cheese?

How long does it take to get smegma?
-
Hmmmm, its going to differ from guy to guy probably. I'm assuming you're uncut - visible smegma and the odor that accompanies it is something us uncut guys deal with. The smegma I've noticed in the past did sorta look like cheese - kinda yellowish/creamy in color and a bit "chunky" at times. However, some of us don't have visible smegma but would have a distinct smegma odor - that is very common, especially for us uncut guys. As to how long it takes - daily washing (sometimes several times a day) prevents any of this. On average though - if an uncut guy isn't practicing good hygiene - I'd say a day or so and there'd be some evidence of smegma. Hope this helps!

As lance explained, after a day you would probably see evidence mostly as a thin film that you could rub off. It would take a while for it to get chunky I would think, but I've never been down that road so I'm not sure.

lance, does this mean its possibly to have smegma and not realize it?is this how our penis might smell a little without out visible smegma? I check everyday for smegma but i can never see or feel any, but i still give it a little wash and it still smells a little at the end of the day.I wonder wat gives some people more smegma and some none!!?
-
Yes - at least it has been true for me. Its totally common for there to be some smell at the end of the day without seeing anything visible at all. Remember, it stays moist and covered by the foreskin so naturally occuring lubrication is happening all the time (thats actually what smegma is) it just helps to keep the skin moving on the head of our penis. So some of this is natural and produced by our body. Hope this helps, feel free to keep asking questions.

In reply to:I wonder wat gives some people more smegma and some none!!? Not completely sure, and I wonder about this myself. I have a few theories though:1 - Length of foreskin. Some guys have longer foreskins than others. I would think guys who have long foreskins can produce more smegma, as there is less air exposure under the foreskin, and less chance for the smegma to get rubbed off on underwear, etc.2 - Level of physical activity. Since smegma is a mixture of dead skin cells, sweat, oils, pheremones (sexual scents), and left over semen and urine, it makes sense that someone who is physically active would sweat more, and have more movement in the foreskin during the day, which could produce more ingredients for smegma. 3 - Level of sexual activity (masturbation, sex, whatever). The more movement the foreskin has over the glans, the more dead skin cells can slough off and form smegma. Also, residual semen from ejaculations can get under the foreskin and help produce smegma. Precum may help produce smegma as well during arousal if it gets under the foreskin. 4 - Amount of washing under the foreskin, and how often you retract your foreskin. Obviously, the more you wash under the foreskin, the less smegma you will have under there. If you're trying to accumulate smegma for whatever reason, you shouldn't wash under there at all for at least a few days, and you will likely notice smegma. If you're washing under the foreskin everyday, you probably won't see any or little smegma.

wowthankyou lance and focusi think they are valid theoriesthis morning in the shower i retracted my skin and started wiping with water and it took like a whole minute to get the slimyness away, i was like, yay i wonder if this is smegma, it kinda just felt like precum lolummm one other thingive only been able to retract for the first time this year, and im 20, and never felt smegma before, you would think if i have never washed under there bfore it would be chunked up to the max with it, but it wasent.Perhaps due to the condition it was in, it didnt produce smegma, for, i have only noticed this new smell since ive been able to retract more and more... wierd huh

In reply to:ive only been able to retract for the first time this year, and im 20, and never felt smegma before, you would think if i have never washed under there bfore it would be chunked up to the max with it, but it wasent. Yes, that is something I can't explain. Some guys here who haven't retracted their whole lives like you report finding tons of smegma under there, and a real mess to clean out, while others find little to no smegma under the foreskin, despite never being retracted in 20 years. Not sure why that it is. As for the smell, you probably would have never noticed it without retracting. The smell was probably always there, but you only first noticed it when you started retracting.

I guess im one of the lucky onesI havent retracted since i was very young and my head isnt sensitive or anything like most of the people hereI guess its one of those unexplanable thingsThanx for ur help guysI hope this kinda answered ur question aqua-paul

It used to take me 2 days to get visible smegma but it would smell bad much sooner.
-
mine usually takes about a week if i dont pull my skin back ... and it really smells after about two weeks. a girlfriend told me the smell is mans natural female mating attractor when gettin a stiffie - the skin pulls back exposing the segma ... ... i believe her as it works even through clothes
-
I used to get it over night, but that was just a phase and it stopped. I agree with the other poster. If I don't wash under my foreskin for a couple of days, my wang stinks, so I have never left it alone long enough to see when smeg would form.
