I'm going out of town next week, and I will be on my period and I'd REALLY rather not be... If I just skipped the white pills and went on to the next months pills would I skip the period? I think I've heard about this before, and it's not good to do or whatever, but if I'm only doing it once.. Anyway, does that actually do it or is there no way to skip it?
Yes, if leave out the week of inactive pills and go straight onto the next month you should skip your period. (Occasionally there can be a little breakthrough bleeding.) Doctors used to be unhappy about women doing that all the time, but just skipping one period is certainly not harmful (and it seems that skipping quite a lot doesn't have any noticeable bad effects either). It's pretty commonly done by women who want to keep holidays, wedding nights, etc, period-free.
Great, thanks! This wedding, cedar point trip and camping would have sucked... lol
