I'm an uncut male and when I go to the toilet for a pee i tend to wipe the head of my penis and under the scrotum with toilet paper after I pee. I know this isn't very common as most people use urinals in public toilets, but does anyone else ever do it? I always do it because I feel a lot cleaner. Also I suffer a little from pee-shy syndrome so i tend to always use toilets instead of urinals.Another question, does anyone sit on the toilet to pee? This question is especially directed at those in the USA because I noticed on a recent trip to Florida that your toilets are very difficult to stand up pee in without getting serious splashback. I don't pee sitting down, but if i lived in america i think i would more often to avoid the splashback.

When visiting the toilet

Not really, but the water level in american toilets is much higher than it is in european ones, making it harder to hit the bowl instead of the water. water = splashback, bowl = nice smooth run (mostly) into the water

bowl = nice smooth run (mostly) into the waterAmericans don't like the fragrance.

I'll wipe when I can. Don't see the point in having your underwear soak up the urine. I don't wipe the scrotum since I don't dribble on my scrotum.I always sit at home since I have no desire to wipe up and clean urine on/around my home toilet.

If the stream is hittng a flat surface then yes the splash would be greater, but if you are hitting a sloped surface then the splash would be directed downward.

It uses less water, and is thus more environmentally friendly, to use a urinal. Some toilets (especially in Europe) have a smaller water volume flush for peeing, but it's not common here. I've never seen a public toilet with that feature.I don't recall ever being spoken to while at the urinal.

When at home, i sit and wipe.
In public loos i use a stall, stand and wipe :3 -
Peeing and then flushing it out into whatever water source it ends up in isn't very environmentally friendly to start with.Hopefully it's treated before it gets dumped. But using a tankfull of water to flush a pee is very wasteful.

Alot of places the sewage dumps staight into the open water.Where do environmental regulations not apply in the U.S.? I'm not aware or where that would be legal, and I assume it's true in Canada and Western Europe as well.> How many public restrooms do you know of that have toilets with tanks? They're all over the place! Plus the non-tank toilet still uses a lot more water than a urinal. All of the water in the bowl (and then some) needs to be replaced during a flush.

"I don't wipe the scrotum since I don't dribble on my scrotum."sorry i didn't mean to say that, i meant to say i wipe under the foreskin! bit of a difference ay i'm surprised some other men say they do wipe (or as women call it 'dab'), i thought no one else really did it...

I tend not to use a urinal. After I pee I use some paper to wipe off any excess pee because no matter how many shakes I still will have to dribble.

In reply to: That's one of the nicest things about this site: Finding out you are not alone! I'd say that is true about the whole internet, it sure is greatand can we drop the whole water conservation debate?

Jeez, dude, chill. They don't allow raw sewage into bodies of water in this country because they don't like epeidemics of dsyentary, typhoid feverm and other nasty diseases that having sewers has pretty much prevented. Trust me, in urban areas, liquid waste does not flow into the rivers. I'd be surprised if it were common in rural areas. Chances are pretty slim that any toilet you use will flush into a nearby stream.
I've used lots of gas station toilets that use a tank. Lots of restuarant toilets as well. Maybe it's different where you live.
Sorry, I don't know much about septic systems, other than you need soil that waste can percolate through, and you need a certain amount of land for the leaching field. I doubt that anyone in Manhattan has a septic system.

As long as it has an Internet connection, an outhouse is fine. I don't think I've ever sat on the seat of a port-o-john.
