I am circumcized, but after becoming sexually active I didn't feel like a)I was as sensitive as I should be (it didn't exactly knock my socks off, so to speak), and b)I usually had small "tears" on the penis the next day after sex, which were very uncomfortable and probably very unhealthy. Question one, have many other guys experienced this? So, I started looking into it and discovered the circumcision is not an exact science and it is possible that I was cut too tightly. After looking for possible solutions, I decided to "restore" the foreskin (not completely, but enough to provide some glans coverage), which has been amazingly helpful for the sensitivity.I am now at a point in my life when I'm leaning toward marriage and starting a family, and I'm almost positive the I will not opt for circumcision, but reading some of these posts has caused a little concern for my future son(s). Are retraction issues truly as common/painful/dangerous as presented on this site? Is it worth it to follow social trends? Are the locker room woes really that bad? Any insight will be appreciated.

General uncircumcised thoughts

I have completely restored, even touch up surgery. You might want to look at www.NORM.org and go from there. I think that most of the posts concerning Tight Foreskin or Phimosis issues present on this site are isolated cases of individuals rather then the overall picture. I for one, now am against circumcision because it is an unnecessary medical procedure. Good luck, and if I can be of any assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.

That is exactly right. I'm looking out for the future little ones. I've restored enough skin to do the job happily.

Why not leave them natural, and if there are any problems they can be dealt with as they arise.
This site is especially for problems and questions, so there are a lot of people posting about retraction difficulties. However, nearly all uncircumcised men do not have serious retraction problems.

I think foreskin problems are relatively rare. Just teach your sons how to retract it while bathing, and they will be fine. Most of the issues here stem from guys who were never taught they can retract, or how to clean under the foreskin. The vast majority of the world is uncircumcised, and are very happy with their intact status with no problems.
