So I'm worried now. I worry about a lot of weird things, and this could just be something that will go away.I was playing basketball the other day, and obviously in basketball, your chest gets hit a lot. I get a little tap to my chest, more specifically, my nipple. it hurt, like on the inside. So afterwards i felt it, and there was a little lump there. in my nipple. very small. it hurt when i touched it, but not when i leave it alone. so i tell my dad about it. It was embarrassing to tell him but i had to. he says, it's nothing but puberty. which i saw as a weird excuse because i'm 17. He keeps telling me to stop touching it, but i can't. It still doesnt hurt when i leave it alone, but still bugs me because i know it's there. I always feel and know it's there probably becuase i keep irrating it and touching it. it feels like a pea is poking out the muscle. i'm very scared and i don't know what it is!

Your dad was right. It's very common and it will go away.

Gynecomastia is usually secondary to the normal hormonal imbalances between testosterone and estrogen that commonly occurs during puberty (pubertal gynecomastia) and it may affect up to 40% of adolescent boys during puberty ...

Thank you for reading and replying to my concern. I sometimes get very paranoid about these things. I'm trying to swallow this and take your word. However, I'm 17, and I'm not really in puberty anymore. But I'll try to relax now and I'll stop touching it becuase i can tell it's irritating it now and it hurts very little when i leave it alone.

If you're really freaking, then go make an appointment with your doctor. I'm not sure what else to tell you, other than, good luck.
