I have been getting these "pop-ups" saying that I am unprotected or something and I should download something called DriveCleaner 2006 and another pop-up talking about not being protected from Malware and wanting to direct me to a page to DL some type of protection.Of course I haven't downloaded anything from these pop-ups with the fear they are viruses. I also haven't downloaded anything period on this comp being that it's my work comp. But starting last week is when I started getting these pop-ups. I also get them at home now, but at home they only started popping up after I removed my Norton’s Anti-virus (which I deleted because it was expired anyways, so I DLed AVG to replace it).I have the same protections services here at work that I have at home: AVG, Adware Away, Spyware Blaster, Spybot-Search and Destroy, and Ad-Aware SE Personal. I ran all these programs and it finds nothing infected on my computers. Also they don’t pop-up at random, only when opening an Internet browser and even than it’s not every time I open a browser. It usually pops up once or twice in a row and won’t do it again for several hours. Any solutions or such I’d be grateful.

Another comp question
-
Just wanted to add that the Malware warning that pops up, the window is titled "Spyware Removal Wizard". It's making it come across like it's something programmed by Microsoft. I ran all my programs again and it's not detecting anything infected.

Yeah...don't download that junk. You click on it and a whole host of nasty things can happen.
-
It's just pop-up spam...your pop-up blocker is not working correctly. Ignore the stuff and click on the little red x box to close it.
-
get a better pop up killer! lol
-
Thanks sdp, I figured that's what it was. Guess I'll have to look into why my pop up blocker isn't blocking them like it used to kicks the program until it works lol
-
and recommendations for a good pop-up blocker?
-
You Norton was probably blocking the pop-ups. You uninstalled it, so that's why it's getting through now.
-
maybe it needs a update... i'm so bad at remeberign to update thngs.

Well makes sense for my home computer. Not sure why they are showing up here at work now when they never have before. Hmmmm.....

first of all make sure youy have Mozilla its really good at blocking pop-ups. Second you can have trojans so get a anti-virus program, AVG free edition is pretty good. Next I can tell you Ad-aware SE is great so keep using it. You should really get Ashampoo that really got rid of my pop-ups/ other computer problems. Finally its possible you have a program automatically installed on your computer that is openign this stuff up so go to Start, Run, type in msconfig and go to startup (make sure nothign fishy is running their) finally you can stop by in the same place to services (first click Hide all microsoft services) then make sure nothing fishy is running. If theirs anything else wrong then I have no idea lol (oh and by the way NEVER get Norton)
