okay i want a labret piercing, but i also play the clarinet. my mom basically said no because she doesn't want it to affect me playing the clarinet, and i told her it wouldn't matter.. what do you guys think?

Piercing

ick, lebret peirceings look yuck and tacky, like a giant blackhead. also when u take it out the scar is not pretty.id stay away from facial perirceings if i were u, also makes it harder 2 get a job etc
-
pff.. i know for sure that i want a facial piercing.. i like the way labret piercings look, and i don't care about a scar.. or getting a job lol. and i already have an eyebrow piercing, so i already have a face piercing. back to the original question, though... anyone?
-
gahh.. i'm desperate here for what you guys think. please, anyone??
-
i don't think it would affect your playing the clarinet.
-
I don't play the clarinet, but if I'm correct, a little bit of tongue is used to play. So, a tongue piercing may not be the best thing if you're a woodwind. I also can't say that I'm a big fan of piercings...
-
i knew this girl who played it,and it didn't look like she used any tongue.plus a labret piercing isn't a tongue piercing.
-
i dont think it will affect you playing the clarinet. as long as you keep it clean, and it doesnt get infected, you should be ok

I used to play the clarinet before I moved to the flute is highschool, and having a labret piercing shouldn't be any problem. The only woodwind instrument that you'd have a problem with is the flute because the lip of the flute fits beneath the bottom lip and chin which would make having a labret piercing virtually impossible if you wanted to play the instrument comfortably. You'll be fine, don't worry about it.
