Well,I was just wondering how far the average vagina would stretch.I was wondering besause I was masturbating with somthing and I couldnt fit but about three or four inches up there!I have tried to stretch it but it hurts really bad and it feels like I could break it!Haha. Is this normal???

How far can a vagina stretch?
-
Okay, you've really piqued my curiousity here...just tell me you weren't masturbating with a watermelon and I won't feel incredibly inadequate for the rest of my life.

Yea eventually the vagina should stretch enough let a baby be born. But it depends onw age how much it will stretch, the younger=less, older=more. And what were you trying to put inside you??

the younger=less, older=moreHow do you know this?

I vaguely remember from my earlier studies of human (female) anatomy, when a lady/girl/woman is about to give birth, a hormone is released that allows the birth canal to stretch beyond normal limits. I maybe extremely wrong, but hey, it's a fantastic thing that we live in don't ya think!!Girls are a little more fantastic to me than other guys. But I am still marvelled at my own body, often....Peter

The hormones "soften" the ligaments that hold the pelvic bone's joints together, which allows more space for the big-headed human baby. The loose ligaments are of the main reason women get lower back pain in the latter part of their pregnancy. The pelvis seems like one solid chunk of bone, but it's not.I'm not sure about the soft tisses getting more stretchy near the time of birth, though...any obstetricians out there?

Common sence

Common sence Oh, really? You said it as if it were a well-known fact. I have common sense, but I wouldn't know that. I mean, how do you really know?

Ahh, finally a subject I can help with! All of the above is good information, including in the original post, where something so small is uncomfortable (not terribly unusual!). Let's see if I can sum it up...First of all, there are as many sizes of vaginas as there are indeed many types of us. Short, tall, small, large, tiny, obese (yes, a vagina can be obese!). Believe me! I have had my hands in thousands of vaginas over 18 years of this job, and seen a many penis in my day as well, there is one for everyone~ So, depending on one's own natural anatomy, each one of us has our own 'size limits' so to speak. However, in pregnancy, there are the hormonal influences which allow it to stretch beyond it's non-pregnant state. Still, there are tears at the time of delivery, babies that can never descend due to the shape, size of the pelvis, direction which the head is facing, etc that influence how much it even needs to stretch. So, to answer the original poster... The fact that a masturbatory tool of 4 inches being uncomfortable brings up a couple of thoughts. You may be one of the few people who have a quite small vagina. I have checked people before who I find it difficult to insert two fingers into... One was a lesbian whose partner was extremely protective to be sure no one 'hurt' her since she was off of men entirely due to such a small vagina. Now, what I mean by this is to be careful, experimenting with gentleness when inserting anything into the vagina, if pain is involved, back off. If you are inserting anything with an angle too close to the pubic bone (think of trying to point whatever it is at your belly-button, very far anteriorly...) that could in fact be in front of the cervix, which is much shorter of a distance, which could be a reason for pain. Try inserting it with an angle farter back, pointing closer to the rectum. You may find it more comfortable and be able to accomodate something larger.A couple of other thoughts in answer to something someone else said. Actually, the younger we are, the better our ability to stretch due to the amount of collagen our tissues contain. Then each one of us has a different skin type. Some skin is beautifully supple and stretches much nicer (think stretchmarks, some skin has very little, some looks like crepe paper after it has been stretched by pregnancy, rapidly enlarging muscle masses, or rapid weight gain. Which brings me back to the obese vagina... I find huge amounts more tissue in those vaginas, as in, sometimes the baby does not descend (I call it fat dystocia). Give you a reason not to be obese anyone???Hope this helped! K
