Hi, I've always had a tight foreskin (I'm 20) and have been following the suggestions in these forums to stretch it. I obtained betamethasone cream from my doctor and I have been doing stretching exercises for the past two months (twice daily). The method I have been using is to pull back the foreskin (with an erection), apply the cream to the tight part of the foreskin, and then retract it as far as it will go without to much pain.Whilst I have made some progress over the past 8 weeks it is still tight and when fully retracted gets stuck behind the glans at which point is quite painful and is difficult to pull forward again (even when flacid). My question is basically am I stretching correctly and does it usually take this long (I've read 4-6 weeks)? Is there anything else I should be trying? (I really want to avoid any more trips to the doctor!!!).Any advice much appreciated

Stretching Question

Try getting your fingers under the foreskin and pulling them away from eachother. That way there is no chance of it getting stuck and I think it stretchs it better.

I went through the same thing when I was loosening my foreskin. If it gets stuck behind the head, one way to get the skin forward again is to squeeze the rim of the head to make it smaller, and with the other hand roll the foreskin forward.

Yes, although it's a bit difficult, mainly due to the sensitivity of the glans, I have always managed to get the foreskin back. My main concern is that's it's taking longer than I imagined/I have heard it usually takes.Another thing I noticed is that there is a vein running and partially around one side of the foreskin - could this be limiting my stretching efforts? Thanks for the advice!

It took me several months of stretching to get my foreskin operating in the right way. I am 17 and at age 13 I could not see any of the head at all, even when soft.
If you ask me, the most important thing in stretching is to pull it back as far as you can comfortably and hold it there for awhile 10 - 15 minutes if you can.

It depends if you have a tight foreskin or if you have phimosis
If you simply have never retracted then it might take a month or so to stretch, if you have phimosis it might take 6 months, a year etc

This might be a stupid question, but how do you tell the difference between Phimosis and just a tight foreskin? Thanks!

Well theres phimosis which ppl categorise as simply a tight skinBut i think if we use the term 'phimosis' in the sence that your foreskin has a 'phimotic ring' it will not confuse people so muchTechnically the term is used for bothIf you have a phimotic ring, it is harder to stretch, but apparently possible, this is what i have.Hope that helps
