I cannot lift weights, I cannot do chin ups, I cannot do press ups. Why are my arms so weak, and will I ever be able to improve the strenght and muscle bulk? I want to double my bicep/tricep size in the next couple of months. Is this possible?I never use free weights, just the equipment such as Arm Curl etc.. I use around 25kg but still cannot lift anything more than that. I have been on 25kg for 3 months with no signs of improvement. What a joke.

How often do you work out? At least an hour a day of basic exercises for a month should help. Then you have to continually add more to keep up. It's definitely "possible", but everybody has a different body and responses. The main thing is your level of patience and dedication.Does 25 feel difficult for you? Try 30 or 35. Small incriments of added pain you can adjust to quickly.

25kg for the arm curl? Are you able to do at least 10-12 reps of this? If not, then I'd even drop it a bit. Biceps aren't the kind of muscle group you can rip to shreds by working out every day and expect improvements. This also applies to using too heavy of weights, especially if you don't have big strong biceps. If you can't lift more than 25kg, then you shouldn't be using that. Go down to about 20-22kg for a couple weeks, and try increasing the number of reps. After that, go back to 25kg and try to do more reps than you did previously. By switching up your workout you will see greater gains. Your muscles adapt to particular movement, and then they stop making the same gains. Try overhand curls as well, where you grip the bar from the top (works biceps and forearms), although you may need to reduce the weight to 15-20kg or less. You sound like you're also trying to work your arms too much. Work your whole body since the synergistic effects of training muscles in other parts of your body, through such pathways as increases in certain hormones, will stimulate greater growth in all muscles of your body. You can put a little extra emphasis on arms, but being a small muscle group, too much will quickly lead to overtraining and then you stop getting gains (sometimes you'll get muscle atrophy from overtraining).Oh, and you should focus on strength gains right now. You can make gains in strength without too much size increase at first, so the big size gains won't come until later. If you can improve your strength, which should be the most important thing anyways, then size will eventually increase - but that also involves a lot of things like increasing fats, carbs, and proteins in your diet and you won't get a lot bigger without increasing dietary intake.

I usually spend about 2 hours per weekday morning in the gym. I expect to burn off 1000 calories per day on the treadmill and bike (that's 5000 calories per week, folks ) THEN, AND ONLY THEN do I venture over and do some weights. Maybe if I tried doing the weights BEFORE I get a bit tired and sweaty I may get better results?I would say I spend around 15 minutes per day trying to do weights. I only have 6 or 7 different types of weight equipment that I use, and I never use free weights. My workout is as follows: Arm Curl (biceps = 25kg), Arm Extension (Triceps = 20kg), Shoulder Press (shoulders = 42kg), Reverse Flyers (Pecs = 35kg), Seated Leg Press (Quads = 79kg) and Leg Extension (Quads = 63kg).However, I don't always do all of these in the same day. For example, today was trhe first time I used the Seated Leg Press for at least a week. I do try and work my biceps every day though, as this is what I joined a gym for in the first place: to beef up my arms.

want to double my bicep/tricep size in the next couple of months. Is this possible?I don't think so. Why do you think you need to bulk up so rapidly? As I said in another thread, using a personal trainer, even briefly, will do you a world of good, especially if you have an issue with your spine.
-
I can do about 5 or 6 reps of the Arm Curl (25kg) until my technique becomes strained and other areas of my body begin to hurt. My right leg also shakes uncontrollably presumably of the tension/nerves during the manouevre.

I am a 24 year old man who has arms like a little 12 year old girl. Currently, my hand can grab around half of my upper arm. I want to put on at least 2kg of muscle on each arm.

Wherever you are, you're not going to double the size of your biceps, or anything else, in two months. And RobBob is right about not beating the crap out of your biceps. You would greatly benefit from some professional advice in putting together an exercise program.

i personaly work my biceps 1 time a week scince its such a small muscle group, i would talk to helsmman if u need more advice

I want to bulk my arms so they look normal like any other man's arms.I have a bad back and do you think this may cause me to struggle lifting certain types of weights? I find dumbbells hard to lift because it puts too much pressure on my spine, for instance.
-
I have a curviture of the spine and although it does not cause me any day-to-day discomfort, I subconciously have to be careful when doing things such as getting up out of bed, running, weight lifting etc.

lol @ the hand around half the arm comment.I can do that too.but, my arms are certainly not like a 12 year's old.I just have extremely skinny wrists...
