Hi guys, There was a thread a while ago about catching STDs from toilet bowls, and no definitive answer other than - it's probably possible.I was was getting a brazilian the other day and realised that all the places I've been to don't change the towels covering the beds we lie on, after each customer. Also, sometimes I notice a stain or wet spot (maybe wax) on the towels. What are the chances of catching something through this (wet patch)? It just seems horribly unhygenic to me and I believe this is common practice (I was visiting high end places too). One more question, I know it's possible to catch herpes through cold sores, just wondering if mouth ulcers are the same thing? Thanks for any help!

Subtle says of catching STDs?

Mouth ulcers are usually not herpes but are caused by bacteria or other issues.

I'd insist on a towel change in that situation if I were you, just for the sake of hygiene. I dont know anything about the possibilites of contracting something in that situation, (it's probably unlikely) but it dosent sound very appealing to lie naked on a towel that others have been lying on naked anyway.

One that comes to mind is molluscum...I hope I spelled that right...that is passed along via towels and the like.
