(Directed at the thread, not Dantek specifically...)1. Lay off Abi. There's no point in attacking her the way she's been attacked. I've seen that tactic used to avoid real discussion too often, and I'm calling it out.2. Caleb's always hurting. Caleb's always down. Caleb's always taking it out on the board. It's time for Caleb to put on his big boy panties and be a man about it. It's time for people to stop mollycoddling Caleb and to start expecting a little more mature behavior from him. You're not doing him any favors.3. These are reasons # 5 and 6 why I've been absent as of late.
-
Well excuse me for being the cold bastard, but someone needs to keep SteveA's spirit going! As for point 1, I was only attacking Abi's argument. She believes that nobody has the right to take a life, but she also believes that we do have the right to take a life. Its one or the other, you can't have it both ways. Using it as an argument is fundamentally flawed because its a contradiction of itself. As for point 3, I hate to see you go but I love to watch you leave. stares at that fine ass

You're not doing him any favors.I suspect, damien, you may be confusing different posters. "Caleb's always taking it out on the board" just isn't true, and is grossly unfair. And the whole tone of what you say - that pain is merely a behavioural problem and that sympathy encourages it - is a view all too prevalent on the Right, and in my opinion is mere rationalisation (and very weak at that) for selfishness.

Could you please cut out the "moral right" bullshit? It is not your right to get revenge. It is not your right to decide what my morals should be. You have your beliefs and well done, congratulations, I hope you're proud of them. But don't you dare think that yours are better than mine. I ignored it earlier when you said "all I'm trying to do is speak what's right and the truth", but I'll say it now. It is YOUR truth and YOUR right, not everyone else's.And let me repeat once again that my argument is NOT that the death penalty is wrong, even tho personally I don't see it as justice. My argument is that you cannot say, as Abi did, that nobody has the right to take another person's life when she is attacking abortion, but then says that we do have the right to take someone's life when they are a murderer. My argument is not whether that person deserves to die or not, my argument is against the contradiction that makes her argument useless. You can't kill, but you can kill. It doesn't work!

seriously, this thread has been turned into a load of crap. And I've already had my discussion with Caleb. So whoever just tried to curse me out, get your underwear out of your buttcrack and chill out. and armondo, do not bother to even attempt to further the discussion. It's a lost cause. Like trying to explain your faith. They'll never get it. And I'm not going to say anything to bob. Cause if I do I'll just get more and more upset. I don't have time for that.
-
I am not attacking you, try to get this straight. Your argument against abortion is, word for word, "WHO are WE to judge who LIVES and DIES?"Yet you believe that the death penalty is an acceptable punishment. What happened to "WHO are WE to judge who LIVES and DIES?"Its a double standard, a contradiction of itself. A belief on life should cover all life. I am not saying your belief that 'abortion is bad and death penalty is good' is wrong, but your argument for your belief is flawed.I'm sorry that you've become upset, of course it was not my intention, but I have stated my argument several times now. Stop taking it as a personal attack, it is not.
-
ok, I understand that. But unnecessary cursing does not run well with me if you haven't noticed.
-
Well I apologise for being a potty mouth, but its in my nature. Its how I was raised.
-
oh you're not just a potty mouth. you're a... moppy mouth. yeah I said it. so you better wash that moppy mouth out with soap before I do it for you. and I'm brutal. I make grown men cry. well not really but I could.
-
Well having a mop already in my mouth will help with the washing.I don't suppose that you want to discuss the whole abortion topic anymore, and I'm inclined to agree with you. So I shall probably be making my last point about it now.Over the past few minutes I went for a little stroll around my kitchen, as I am prone to doing, and I remembered a conversation I had with a deeply religious friend of mine. She told me that she could never love an atheist because an atheist cannot see the true beauty of the world. I, not only being agnostic but artistic too, instantly objected to this statement.I see the beauty of the world, I see the beauty of life and I am thankful for the gift of life for which I have been given. But I am not thankful to any god for my existence, I am thankful to my parents for creating me, nurturing me and making me who I am. Many atheists will argue that life is not a gift but I disagree, I believe that it is the perfect description of it. A gift is given time and thought and love, as is the life of a child. But I believe that someone should have the option to give. When someone is forced to give a gift, it is deprived of the time, thought and love that it requires.
-
They wouldn't necessarily be forced because it was their actions that made it possible.I'd like to think a nice gift of giving someone else a chance to live. Experience life, before being destroyed without a second thought. And just like you say you can see the beauty of life without being thankful to any god. While I can see the beauty of life and be thankful to my God for having the chance to see it. I can't look at the beautiful sky that looks like a painting or the landscape, birds, flowers, etc and come to the conclusion that it all happened by chance. That's just me. And even when things do go wrong in this world, so many things that should have happened but didn't. Things that people deem impossible but I see occur all the time. It's enough to convince me. I'm sorry. I guess you'll have to call me stubborn, stupid, and naive. I don't see anything positive about preventing the life of a new born. I just don't. Not every child grows up being loved by their parents. Not every successful and loving adult had a great childhood with nurturing parents.
-
When it comes to your belief in God and my belief in... well, not God, its as simple as this. You have the capacity to believe without proof. Its called faith. I don't have it.
-
It's alright, I still love ya.
-
I love you too! So... when are you legal?
-
lol not for two more years.
-
I'll be waiting...

But that merely has to do with the vastness of the universe and how many chances something has to do something like what we have, even though the chances of it happening are highly slim.
