hi, very sorry to post 2 threads in a row,but sometimes when i miss a few days of working out, and im looking skinnier, and then i get back into my routine and push myself really hard, i see my arms are bigger. is it possible to get your arms looking bigger after one workout or is that just wishful thinking?

Africa wrote: when i miss a few days of working out Yes, you "rested" more days and therefore you were able to "push harder" because your muscles had a chance to recuperate from your previous work.As per my previous response to your db press post I think this is a case in point of how resting more - or what you call "missing a few days" - between workouts will actually allow you to come back stronger and get a more noticeable pump from your workout. If I were you I would experiment with this - try "missing" more days and see if you don't improve more than when you work out more frequently.BTW - not sure that you are equating "skinny" with actual muscle loss because you missed a few days of training. A "pump" in the muscles just means there is more blood there TEMPORARILY and will only last so long. Real muscle does not disappear after missing a few days of training and is actually built by getting stonger and to a much lesser degree from "pumping" up ala Arnold and the Girly Mahn shtick! The idea is to "stimulate" muscle growth with just enough work with a weight that allows you keep perfect form and just fail on the last rep - not necessarily just to pump them up with too many sets/reps.
