I am 24 and I have grey hair appearing quite a lot on my side of my head. What does this mean? And how can I go about getting rid of it?

Why am I getting grey hair?
-
It's genetics, I'm afraid. I knew someone who was greying badly at 21. There's nothing you can do except dye it.
-
Cutting my hair short releives the problem for a few weeks, but then it starts to grow back again.
If I died it dark brown like the rest of my hair, would it ever rinse out. Because if I dyed it the wrong colour I would need to change it.

If you use permanent dye it won't rinse out, but as the hair grows it will grow out grey, so you have to keep touching up the roots. StrapingYoungLad should be able to give more advice.

I dont know if theres anything more you can do than what you say. If you are determined not to have them showing then dieing the hair is the only way to hide it. And yeah you'll need to keep getting your roots done.

My genes (from my mother) point to me getting gray hair at a very young age as well, but I figure that you've got to play with the cards you've been dealt. Why worry about something so difficult to control? On the plus side, I'm pretty sure that there are ladies out there who would dig the gray. Mayhap.

Yep...genetics. I knew a guy who was bald at 21. So look at it this way: At least you have something to dye if you decide you want to go that route.
