has anyone ever gotten a rash like thing on their penis? it's right on the head, and at first it just felt really dry, like dry skin. there was no redness. so i put some lotion to help with the dryness.now it has turned kind of red. not much difference from the normal skin color. i've looked up all std symptoms and this doesn't seem to be any of them. the "dryness" seems to have gone away. but it's almost like some of the skin is peeling off...any ideas?should i be worried?

Are you circumcised or uncut?

circumsized.i've been doing research, doesn't look like ANY std, but i'm concerned it may be a yeast infection. i don't kno whow i'd have one though...i think i'd notice if my girlfriend had one, considering the website i looked at said soreness and odor as sypmtoms, among other things.so yeah, i'm worried it might be a yeast infection.

Women (and men) can have yeast infections without noticeable symptoms. However it's also common to get a yeast infection non-sexually - spores float about in the air. Most yeast infections aren't sexual, which is why it isn't classified as an STD. It could also be another type of fungal infection. In any of these situations, the treatment is the same, with anti-fungal cream, readily available over the counter at a pharmacy.

it's slightly red, not much of a different shade from the rest of the head, but definitely red. the skin just feels very dry. should i get some anti fungal cream? or should i talk to my dermatologist first?

It's impossible to be sure what it is, but fungal and yeast infections are common, and antifungal cream won't hurt. I'd try it for a couple of days and see if it makes a difference.
