Well, think of it like this...Whats more humilating: Your boyfriend thinking you smell like a road kill down there... Or going to the doctor.

Hi differentgirl, you dont say how old you are but I am guessing you're likely to be pretty young, as if you werent you'd be most probably used to the whole area of dealing with doctors re your sexual health. The thing is, any doctor will have come across vaginas as a regular part of their job; really, they wont feel any differently than if they were checking any other part of your body for infection.
I realise that you are more worried about how you will feel, but I think if you take your cue from them that this is all a very regular run-of-the-mill type of thing that should go someway to calming your nerves about the process. The thing is, as you mature, you will need smear tests every few years to check your cervix for cancerous cells. Those tests are very important as cervical cancer is very treatable if detected early, but deadly, obviously, if undetected; so this is why I am telling you you will need to make yourself comfortable with this area of health screening in the best interests of your health. Also, of course, there may be pregnancy at some future time, or you may want to be fitted with an IUD. In fact there are myriad reasons why you may need to be checked down there in the years to come.
Gynaecologists specialise in this area, so really, that's all they do - look at vaginas all the whole day long! Some women (myself included) feel most comfortable with a female gynaecologist and there is nothing to stop you asking to see a female doctor at a health clinic if your family doctor happens to be male. Also, it wouldnt hurt to tell the doctor that you are feeling a little nervous before your check up and hadnt been examined in that way before. I am sure any decent person would take that as a signal to be gentle and kind. Good luck.

How do you know you have bacterial vaginosis?Believe me, doctors doesn't particularly care about your private parts. They see them all day long. Infections down there are very common.

Pertaining to your other point, I still sweat when I where anti perspirant. Now I'm a guy, but it's not unusual. I can't not sweat if I exert myself in any way, anti perspirant or not. Having it on just slows the release of sweat from my armpits by a short while if I'm doing anything like that. Anti perspirant only keeps me from sweating if I'm not in any high heat environments and not exerting myself or exposing myself to high stress. It helps to reduce it in those cases, but that's about all.I find that I personally produce more body heat when I exert myself than most people do (must be that viking blood ), but at this time of year it's not as much of a problem because the air is cold and can't hold too much humidity. You may want to find a different brand of anti perspirant. I know that concentrations of aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex/pentachlorohydrex/octachlorohydrex/etc glycine, the ingredient that prevents sweating, varies in concentration between brands. You may want to look for one with higher concentrations.
