You still need a punishment! I think Mr.U is prepared for that!
who dare taketh my name in vane!?
-
Is that a possiblity?I had to switch my ISP before cause of this! I do use a Wireless Internet thing? WiFi?I'm not the best with computers lol @Unsupervies: Well, someone needs to punish her, she broke a rule! And, you're Canadian afterall, I hope she likes it rough! lol! okay, lets stop! Also: My schools networking system had this sort of problem, where some students couldn't log in 'cause of the IP: Just wanted to throw that in.

I do use a Wireless Internet thing? WiFi?It doesn't matter whether the router is WiFi or wired. It matters where the owner of the router is getting his Internet service. The router's IP address is assigned by the ISP, and the router then presents that address to the ISP, and the Internet. That's the address that sdp sees.If dial-up is involved, then it's different -- the router is at the ISP.Are you and purple both stealing a WiFi signal from the same router?
-
this post is confusing me. how are they the same person???
-
I'm not stealing anything lol.Sympatic(My old ISP) had the problem where they gave out to other computers IPs. So, we switched off that.I do have 4 computers, could that interfere? I've had people 'connect' on to my Internet before! Actually took up Bandwith. I've found some things on IP Stealing
-
Uh yeah...
You both can have the same IP address if you shared an internet connection. Unfortunately, the both of you are never logged in at the same time even if the two names post within minutes of each other.
Nice try Purple.
-
There is no possible way that you could have the same public IP address as someone else unless you are both behind the same router. If someone sent data to that IP address, where would it go?Your four computers are behind a router, and have different addresses on your intranet (i.e., in your home). They will appear to the outside world (i.e., the Internet at large) to have the same IP address. The key thing, though, is that they are all on the same router, the one inside your house.Having the same IP address implies that you're behind the same router, or that your ISP has really screwed up, and is breaking the Internet.
-
Hah, so did I!
-
ben is purpleduhhhhh.... read the postsor did we all think that all Canadian high school kids, no matter what city, are that dense?Ben even made reference to the "urinal contraversy" that Purple brought up, which, if you believe his location, happened in a totally different school board.
