Last week I had blood on the toiletpaper a few times after bowel movements.I went to a proctologist because it scared me a bit. Actually this guy is a dermatologist but he also treats hemorrhoids and such things and he also has such a proctology chair or whatever you call this...Actually I was absolutely convinced that I at least have hemorroids because often it itches and twinges in the rectum. I was absolutely sure that these have to be hemorrhoids. I also had a rectoscopy done a few years ago and as far as I remember the doctor diagnosed hemorrhoids back then. But the proctologist said there are no hemorrhoids! He sticked in his finger and felt for hemorrhoids and said there is nothing and then he also looked in with his instrument. How is this possible? Is it possible that this guy simply has no clue and overlooked it all or didn't see it? Or would he definitely have seen or touched it? Somehow I'm still not really satisfied because now I question wether this guy is really competent.Because I remember that even I saw something on the mucous membrane when I examined my own butt in front of a mirror. There was something which I thought might be a hemorrhoid. But it looked different. It had the same color as the mucous membrane and it tapered off. It didn't have the shape of a hemorrhoid. Maybe it was a harmless skin tag. But now I'm scared that maybe he didn't even see this. Or would he have seen or left it when even I was able to see it with a little effort. If I don't have hemorrhoids then why does my butt itch and twinge sometimes? Very often it simply itches after a bowel movement. This makes no sense.

Hemorrhoids or not?

Do you use any suppliments or drugs? I was once taking creatine and had similar side effects, I would get random shooting pains in my ass, and blood every once in a great while, not alot, just enuff to make ya think wtf is that. Anyhow it was from taking creatine.

Hemorrhoids can come and go. Straining during a bowel movement can cause a flare up and swelling of the afflicted vein. After a while they can/do subside.

Nope, no creatine. I have been having blood on the toiletpaper already when I was liked 13 years old. I have switched to a high fiber diet but sometimes it still itches and twinges. Sometimes I lean over and pick something up and then it stiches in the anus, isn't this strange? I could swear that these problems have to be from hemorrhoids, what else should cause them? But the doc said I have no hemorrhoids.
Is it possible that he simply has no clue? -
Could be a crack in the skin (a fissure). If it's there, the doctor should have been able to see it if he examined you carefully...but he could have missed it. The blood has to be coming from somewhere. I presume it's bright red.But it sure sounds like hemorrhoids.

Yeah actually he saw a fissure. But the thing is that I have this itching very often and I cannot imagine that every time I have this itching and twinging it is caused by a fissure. Usually I don't have blood on the TP. If you have no hemorrhoids then you also shouldn't have any itching or twinging because what else should cause this?

I cannot imagine that every time I have this itching and twinging it is caused by a fissureI can imagine that it might.I don't know what else would cause it, other than some kind of infection (not necessarily bacterial).
