I was quoting the movie C&C was paraphrasing (Napoleon Dynamite).
-
Guys like gilrs with skills...
-
The sarcasm was lost on the many of us who haven't seen the movie.
-
It wasn't sarcasm and the joke wasn't aimed at those who hadn't seen the movie.
-
I presume it was gentle sarcasm aimed at yourself. And it was a bit of a mystery to folks who hadn't seen the film.
-
That's some amazing stuff there. Keep up your good work. (And try to paint the room a lighter color to match the paintings, lol)
-
Aww, thank you every one *blushes*
Reading all that made me smile.
And, Jobloggs, It's ok, I got the joke. Dapoliam Dynamite is rad. The tital of this post is off a Napolian Dynamite quote, hence his joke. hehe
Woooo, and by the way, I just finnished my new paintings today for my mum and they're drying downstairs. Yay! I did these on flat canvis bord so mum can frame them so it will match her room. Hehe, I'm so exited to see what they'll look like framed.
Thank so much again guys, you really made my day *hugs for everyone*

I wish I could paint, but I know I'd be shite, my idea of an animal (any animal) is a little ball for the head, a big ball for the body, and four little matchstick legs! Seriously, my son would draw a more authentic looking picture than I could. Why dont you paint one for us all and we can save it? Have you ever painted lillies? I think that was an orchid, the one for you mans room, was it? If I had your talent I think it'd be fun to paint really whacked out looking lillies in colours they'd never grow in, like royal purple with deep blue shadows and you know the little beads in the middle, the seeds, you could do those on black stems in a really loud ochre colour that would really stand out..It's a pity to get excited about a talent I'll never have Poor me! lol.
-
those are very good.An there's always something erotic about flower paintings (just ask Georgia O'Keefe)
-
You could rise up, I usually notice people who start with no skill turn out better than the people who were "gifted".
-
Hehe, I should probably paint more.
A lilly could work, and changing the colour is a good idea othwise it would be all..white
I'm not going to paint an orchaid because I hate that flower. My mum loves then but I still refuse to paint the effing things.
The reason for the flowers is quite simple. I thort I'd fuck then up so, sumthing like a flower I could always just say I painted it abstract...and I love colours. :smile:Anyway, for those who care heres a pic of the ones I've just finnished. I personally prefer bright colours but, this is to match my mums room so...didn't have much of a choice in that area.
They haven't been framed yet but, you get the point. These were fun, they were my expirement with texture. Bad thing about painting though, it hypes me up to much so i cant sleep...so im tired now.hehe
And yes, I'm aware flowers are sposta be sexual, people keep pointing that out to me.lol
-
They're lovely. Now, are you Jenna or is that your mum?
-
I like these actually, you use some good colors. First rose and now blue.
-
Shhhhh, I was hoping no one would notice that...I saw it but couldn't b effed changing it...That's me, but I WAS trying to be slightly anonymos here...meh, oh well
-
Thank you, I love colours
-
OMG hon i love the new ones, i really really like the others, just pink doesn't do it for me i guess, but the blue ones, wow, i would hang those they are stunning........
-
Hehe, you guys have made me all proud and confident
I love A2A, but mostly the people on it

Thanks Kiwi, I might at some future stage decide to risk making a total show of myself with painting classes, but if I ever do it'll be just for fun. I wouldnt have any notions in that direction, as I cant agree that practice can allow a mediocre or non-existant skill surpass natural talent. For example, I used to sing when I was a little girl, I always got the solo in the choir and sang alone at my Holy Communion; but when I was nine I changed schools and this girl, her name was Antoinette, got up to sing. She opened her mouth and I was astonished to hear the most angelic naturally skillful and beautiful singing I'd ever heard up till that time, something along the lines of Sinead O'Connor, and that was when I knew it was time to pack in the singing. I was a little bitter about it at first of course, but after I got over that I used to actually love to listen to her sing. Her voice was truly beautiful and a joy to listen to, but I'm just of the school of 'If you cannot possibly come first, what's the point in being in the race'? I knew I'd have to focus on my first love, writing, and I did and it was the right move. I had a half decent voice, but I was right in assuming I was never going to set the world on fire with it. I'm a realist and I think it benefits us all to know our limits!I think practice can only improve on natural talent, but without a good deal of the the latter I dont think any amount of the former is going to make a staggering amount of difference to anyone. So I may get along to those classes someday, just dont go looking out for anything of mine hanging in art galleries, ha ha.

Yes, the thing about the lilies is that I love their lines, their elegance, and I think to represent them in some whacked out colour would totally throw that elegance into disarray. Tiger lilies are the only ones I've ever come across that aren’t white, they stink, but that is neither here nor there in a painting of course, ha ha.I love the tree suspended in mid air with no soil around the roots. That’s a great idea; it's a good example of how painting can be artistic in more ways than simply the skilful application of paint to create a visually pleasing effect. I'm getting jealous here, arrrrrrghh! lolI love the idea of total oddity in a painting, for instance (here’s my mental image of a painting I’d love to be able to create) the view of a corner of a room with a really respectable looking window in the background, very proper looking lace curtains, porcelain figurines, a perfect linen tablecloth, brass candlesticks on a mahogony mantlepiece and polished silver on the side etc, everything to give the impression of an upper class household, well-bred maintained decorum all around, and an elegant slim crystal vase in the centre of the scene, and sitting in it the most fucked up whacked out looking flower nowhere to be found in Gods creation, like a total wrong colour with tiger stripes or something like that. Maybe its better that I can’t paint, I probably have some warped ideas that oughtn’t be expressed at a glance, ha ha.

thanks starfishOne thing I've learnt, you're never as crap as you think you are. I look at those paintings and think god I wish I'd done that colour darker, that lines not quite right etc etc but I no other people don't notice that. If you enjoy it , do it!woo, I've been 18 now for 4 whole minutes
