Hello all,From time to time (about once per week/fortnight) some part of my body will have spasms for a few hours. They're like small vibrations or tremors, no-one else would notice (unless it was my eyelid) but bothering nonetheless. They'll pulse, like 30 seconds on, 1 minute off or something. I get them all over (but only one place each time it occurs), somewhere in my back, my triceps, somewhere near my appendix, my eyelids. I've had these for years and thought they were normal. Are they? Also, I sweat a real lot in bed. I don't wear anything but boxers (sometimes totally naked) even in winter. It gets pretty cold here (about 35-40 degs overnight), I only have one blanket on the bed and most other people would say that's nowhere near enough what they need to keep warm. I can be cold when I go to bed, then hop in to bed, warm it up (don't like electric blankets) and then wake up with the bed soaked at times (sometimes not at all). Sometimes I've thought that I've pee'd the bed even (but never have, the whole length of the bed is wet).Any ideas what this is?One more thing. I grind my teeth in my sleep. I hate the idea of it, it makes my blood run cold, but I have no control over it! I've resorted to sleeping with a mouthguard but what is the cause of it? What is going on?Can anyone explain any of these? I've lived with them for years so I'm not really worried, just interested to know what's going on and if they're related. Does anyone else experience any of these symptoms? Thanks in advance

Muscle spasms and twitches, bed sweats
-
My doctor, and others, have told me that muscle twitches (which I get sometimes too, along with many others - scary stuff) are caused by either prolonged fatigue or sleep deprivation, or a lack of calcium. Might wanna go to a doc, or get a calcium supplement. Make sure you get enough sleep.Bed sweats could be a psychological thing, but for me I find it's just this screwed up thing with my body temperature gage, I have a really hard time with homeostasis. I go to bed freezing, wake up sweating, (I sleep naked or almost naked too) and then throw off all the covers. Within 10 minutes I'll wake up freezing again. It sucks. I wish I could help you out, but I need help too. My friend has weird muscle spasms whilst sleeping, as well, (I'm a girl, he's a guy)...so I dunno.Go sleep a sleep specialist doctor? And remember to eat well and get sleep, and all that.~Natasha

Thanks very much for your post Natasha. I don't sleep well at all and haven't for the past 10 years or so. Probably average about 4 hours per night. I suppose it's not too bad really, but I think my body just needs more. I can't remember a time where I didn't feel tired. The bed sweats, no idea for me too. I suppose I should just go to a doctor, but none of the symptoms really piss me off. He/She'll probably just tell me to sleep more. The truth is, if I could, I sure would!I hope you sort out your problem and get some good nights of rest. Mmmmmmmmm, rest. :P
