Most probiotics contain live cultures, which are temperature and age sensitive. So they do require refrigeration. The probiotics I am taking doesn't require refrigeration because the HSOs in it remain dormant until activated in body fluids.

As long as the temp doesn't go above I believe 80 degrees or below 25 degrees the probiotic is fine.

If it gets shipped in trucks and planes and such, and the cargo compartments are not temperature-regulated, which they rarely are, how do do know whether what you're taking is active?I'm not sure how stores deal with it, but a lot of probiotics are shipped by UPS/USPS/etc.

I'm sure it's shipped with a bunch of other temperature perishable goods. But, it's always a possibility.

Just a little good news. I came back from my gastro today and he said continue what I'm doing and give him a call if I'm not feeling well! That probably doesn't sound too special to a lot of you... but this basically means I'm drug free and my doctor thinks it's awesome! lol. I've been one several different types of prescription drugs ever since I was first diagnosed when I was 17. So, almost 4 years since I didn't have to take at least one prescription/synthetic pill a day.Anyway, we had a 10 minute conversation about naturally grown foods and probiotics. He even told me how to make my own yogurt and also told me where the nearest organic garden is.

Right now I am still taking the probiotics and the Robinul Forte and it's been working really well, I don't have the urgency to go to the bathroom and very minimal stomach cramping. I don't like the fact I am taking a man-made drug mainly because they don't know what the long-term effects could be with long use of the drug. I'm hoping to find something more holistic, but for not I'm enjoying being able to do things without the constant worry.

So, can you say for sure that the probiotics are helping?

So it's hard to tell which one is working more than the other or if one of the treatments is working or not working. I have been tempted to stop taking the Robinul Forte to see what happens, but I have to be honest I have been enjoying the comfort lately. But Eventually I’ll give it a go and see what happens, but this weekend I am going away for a trip so I want to wait lol.

Yeah, I'd say do it only when you feel up to it. Enjoy what you have.
