Okay guys, this is rather important, at least to me. I've been wanting to trim my waist and stomach for quite a while, and have tried a lot of different approaches. None of them worked. =(I want to trim my love handles and stomach down, and possibly obtain a six pack in the process. To my knowledge, doing workouts such as crunches and situps that target the abdominals won't lose the fat around that area and really don't do too much for the situation, so I am not doing that.I am currently on Weight Watchers (diet that is), and doing a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio daily. Normally I use a cardio machine, its called the Sky Glider and Pretty much you step onto it and move your legs forward and backward. I would guess from using it that its only a medium activity, as my heart doesn't go racing and I break out into a sweat towards the end of a 30 min session. Can anyone give me pointers on losing the weight around the waist and pulling that six pack to the surface? Also, please consider that I don't want to weight lift and the like if at all possible. I also cannot run like 6 miles daily, so please keep that in mind as well.

Well, I would say drink more water (If your not already) and do a differn't cardio activiety. It doesn't seem like its that great of a work out. Running in place, jumping jacks, dancing.. Stuff like that

I've increased how much water I drink daily, and I'm thinking about starting to work out as well. The reason why I don't like doing other activities is because, well, they're boring. I would run on the treadmill all day if it wasn't boring, but I'm constantly looking at my watch to see when my half hour's over. I need something interesting. Thanks for the suggestions though, I'll take them into consideration. :-)

I hear you on the treadmill. I did a 1/2 mile on it tonight.. Nice little workout.. but I was bored... Listening to music.. but the scenery stays the same... but running around seems to dangerous (Great world we live in.. eh?)

JUMPING ROPE! Just watching MASH .. Looks like a good excerise

I've recently taken up weight lifting. It seems to help a little bit. Jumping Rope is fun too.

I went on a diet recently. Lost 15 pounds in 3 1/2 weeks. I reduced my calories to 1,000 a day. I'm back to eating whatever I want now and I haven't gained a pound.it'll trim your stomach, but if you want a six pack then you gotta keep doin' side and regular crunches. Everyday and keep track of your reps.

Jumping rope is a good cardio workout (here in Australia we call it skipping!). You can try variations to it, like running over the rope, or try doing 5/10/x high jumps say every minute or two, and try to clear say 2-3 rotations with each high jump (great sprint workout), try criss crossing, skipping backwards etc.Note that it's extremely important that you wear good shoes whilst skipping! Skipping barefoot is a no-no and will lead to shin splints without doubt. Skipping with dodgey shoes can also pose a risk. Some people find it easier to skip barefoot, but it's not long before shin splints set it. You'll get used to shoes anyway, and they stop your feet from getting their asses whipped!
