How so? Are you trying to say that the strategies of invasion, occupation and displacement are not common characteristic traits which connect all historical empires?

I would regard that as unlikely, but since history has developed as it has we have no concrete alternate model of how civilisation would have (and should have) evolved without the 'contribution' of empires, we are none of us placed to speculate on how the world would have developed without them, or what our modern day reality would be without the continuing scourge of imperialist domination.
