try to join some moto-club. so they'll probably have a spare bike for you to practice on. later on if you still like that sport you can buy your self your own bike.just a thought

Yeah, they're just worried mate. Not only is it out of your control, but it's out of theirs too. The thing is, they worried not because they want to, but because they love you and they're your parents. They can't control the feeling, and they haven't done it to piss you off.
You may be able to get one when you're like 21, or fully independent, but even then they'll worry like hell and they'll be upset. If you do do something like this I suggest that you never, ever, ever ride with ANY PIECE of your protective gear missing. Make sure that you do it responsible, and make sure that your parents (and other loved ones) know you're doing it responsibly, they won't worry so much.
I kind of wanted a bike when I was young, my parents said no and I knew I couldn't anyway (we didn't have much $ and I knew not to argue/nag my parents anyway). Once I was totally independent I bought myself a sports road bike. They worried heaps, my Dad didn't talk to me for a couple of months but got over it. He wouldn't let me me visit his house even! I had one accident and they thought I'd stop, but I couldn't!. I now have a gf/defacto and had another accident a while ago. She's forbidden me from getting another bike (it was destroyed). I go nuts sometimes, but I know if I keep asking her I'll be able to get one, but then I know they're so dangerous it could all come to an end pretty suddenly, it's not a chance I want to take. I may just get one and take it to the racetrack only. Man I miss my bike. Is there any thread here where I can talk about bikes with people? :frowning: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh I want to get out and give it a fanging!
Shit now look what you've done.

if you ask me, don't go trough life beeing afraid of things. of course you gotta be responsible, but just because you could get hurt doesn't mean you have to avoid things. life is life.just a thought
-
I don't get it. Did I say I was afraid of something? Did anybody else?
-
They are dangerous. But they're no more dangerous than getting in your car every morning and driving to school (or walking in school), walking out your front door, or even riding a bicycle. I used to ride dirtbikes all the time when I was 14 years old. You've gotta take risks at some point in your life or you'll spend the rest of it wondering if that next dirtbike champ, or gold medalist at the olympics could have been you. You're gonna fall off a few times. You're gonna wreck more times than you care to remember but the first time you come to a screeching stop and 360 you're gonna think, "holy shit batman!? Did I do that?" I had great experiences that I won't soon forget.
-
but thats the whole fun the joy of knowing your doing something as fatal as righting a dirtbike and flying 50 feet in the air and know you could die if you dont sucseed
-

Yeah, I got upset this weekend b/c I'm learning how to use a sword, I've pretty much got it figured out on some levels, yet I found this 20 dollar Samurai Sword (possibly just a fake model) but my goddamn parents wouldn't let me get it! They're so supid sometimes!
-
A real samurai sword wouldn't be $20 - those things are very collectable. Actually any sword that is any good would be a lot more than $20.Real sword fighting is pretty serious and pretty dangerous. What about taking up competition fencing?
-
Naw, my friend, Mike, got these tapes and two foam practice swords, so you can train with them. Well, I figured the sword wasn't real, I know they mostly go for well over $1,000. And if I were to try and get Sephiroth's......well over $10,000!

FF7 is a great game!

Randomness!!!!!!!
