My name's Kyle. I attend Sheridan College for Art. I write stuff. I draw stuff. I paint stuff. I design stuff. I create stuff. I play the guitar and write music as well. I like things/people that make me think in ways I’ve never thought before. As does everyone, I have a dark side, but I keep in touch with mine in order to keep it calm. I procrastinate with almost everything I do. I am trying to do that less. I like to make people laugh. One of my goals in life is to be bitten by a radioactive spider. I enjoy working out. I care a great deal about my physical appearance. When people lie it makes me sad. When I am on stage I am happy. I like to drink. I like to get drunk with people I respect. I fall for brunettes, pretty smiles, and women who show skin. If you are not afraid to be yourself, I want to be your friend. If you are very close-minded, I probably won’t like you that much. If you cause a lot of unnecessary dramatics, I probably won’t like you that much either. If I don't like you that much, I will probably be overly sarcastic when we converse. I hate pickles. I hate apple juice. I hate fake people. I hate religious debates. I love Coca-Cola. I love happy women. I love Christmas. I love philosophical discussion. I have a phobia of centipedes and marionettes. I know a wealth of information about music, movies, comic books and video games. I am a huge fan of Spider-Man, Batman, Final Fantasy, and Metal Gear Solid. My 3 favorite movies are Fight-club, Garden State, and Amelie. I don’t usually read books unless someone, whose opinion I trust, highly recommends one. Of the books I have read, my favorites are The Catcher in the Rye, and The Picture of Dorian Gray. I try to listen to the widest variety of music possible. Country music makes that hard to accomplish. I don't think that Shakespeare was a genius, although I do wish that love actually happens the way it does in Romeo & Juliet. I don’t care about name brands. I don’t often follow trends. I don’t think that following trends makes you a clone. I don’t think that hating the mainstream makes you original or unique. I tend to know my way around the Arts, and will gladly help anyone with it. I play a variety of instruments. My future goal is to be the best artist, musician and actor. My name is Kyle. The most important word to me is "Real"I skateboard everyday and every hour - I ride for Speed Demon and Blue Munster. I paint, draw, mold and sculpt. I love every minute of it.When I pay my guitar and drums, my life feels complete. When I'm with my camera, my creativity just comes out.My girlfriend, family, and friends mean everything to me.I can't think of anything else. Thank you ladies and gentlemen. Merry Christmas.

Introduction.

Well, it sounds like you have a full life Ethereal, fair play to you, as we say in Ireland. Welcome to a2a; I've read both the books you've mentioned, I think nothing furthers a person’s spiritual development as much as reading. Since you enjoyed those books, which are both considered classics (though I wouldn’t have raised 'the catcher' to that level, personally) I'd be happy to have a chat about other books worth reading, I can think of some you'd love, based on what you've already enjoyed. The Bronte sisters have produced some of the best writing to be found in English literature. Welcome again.Starfish.

Oh donâ€(tm)t start me off about books Ethereal; I'd be going all day! I'll save your list, there are several on there I havenâ€(tm)t read and reckon would be worth a look. Here are some books that I've read, some of them I've read for the second time (I often do that) in the last few months:
Nuala O'Faolain, 'Are you somebody?' (A beautiful autobiographical account)
Edger Allen Poe, 'Spirits of the Dead: Tales and Poems'
Stephen King, 'Dolores Claiborne'
Daniel Defoe, 'Moll Flanders'
Brendan Behan, 'Borstal Boy'
Patrick McCabe, 'The Butcher Boy'
Zadie Smith, 'On Beauty'
Eugene McCabe, 'Death and Nightingales'
John Banville, 'The Sea'
Primo Levi, 'The periodic Table'
Louis de Bernieres, 'Birds Without Wings'Louis de Bernieres book is a spectacularly beautiful work; his masterpiece, in my opinion, though most people regard that to be Captain Corelli's Mandolin.
I'll look out for the ones on your list that I havenâ€(tm)t read, I'd highly recommend the ones on mine, I've read a good few more than that that didnâ€(tm)t make the list.
I have a habit, when I'm in a bookshop, of reading the first couple of paragraphs; I never go beyond the first page. If it hasnâ€(tm)t grabbed me by then I put the book down. I think it's a very good system. I feel if an author canâ€(tm)t grab my attention in the first page I feel it's not worth my chasing after it. I think that's a good way to go about choosing a book.

Yes, it's very beautiful. I must read it again actually. I have hundreds of books. I pack them away in boxes, I have so many of them. It's going to have to come out of hiding soon anyway, as I'll be moving in a couple of months..
