As inspired by the post "Hey I just noticed something" by A.W (Being called the 'Rootbeer Member') I made this thread for the FANS of rootbeer. Birchbeer fans are also welcome. Therefore, what are your favorite kinds of rootbeer/birchbeer, and what do you do with it (Drink it, use it in a float, perhaps a strange recipe or cocktail) I love the following brands:- IBC- Saranac- Boylans- Henry Wienhard
-
Rootbeer, the elixir of the gods?
-
rootbeer is ok, but i only really like ICB or IBC (i thought it was ICB oh well).
-
I love the IBC glass bottled root beer. A&W is also good.
-
I like.. sprite and mountain dew. Root bear is not something I like.
-
A&W and IBC FTW.On a side note, when I was a kid I used to think Barq's was beer. I'm not sure why.
-
I love root beer and root beer floats.if you mix root beer with anything else, then you taint it, and i would not do that!"Rootbeer, the elixir of the gods?"yes.
-
Mmm Rootbeer, really the only soda I drink.. that and Squirt. Otherwise I'm not a real fan of soda.

Because you're a PERVERT!!! LOLGuessing the UK does not have Squirt?? lol
-
**yes, yes i am, and no we don't have that over here *still chuckling* **
-
hehehe well it's yummy LoL. It's basically a grapefruit flavored soda. It's YUM!
-
I like Squirt too, but I like IBC Cream Soda. Mmmmmmm.
-
Cream Soda and I have a very come and go relationship. I have my moments when I crave it, and times the sound of it's just makes me sick lol.

The best root beer I had was "brewed" by the Brewery Exchage in Lowell, MA. It made me realize that most common bottled root beer is pretty awful. The best soda is of course Ting, which can be found in the Caribbean. I was also able to find it at the Stop and Shop in Mission Hill in Boston. Good stuff indeed.

My favorite is a mexican brewed sasparilla...Very similar to root beer, but I can't find it anymore pout
-
I think I've actually had ONE sarsarpilla drink before; and I've never had a birch beer. I live in Canada, where we have a chronic lack of good taste in soda; so acquiring a good rootbeer (like IBC and others I mentioned) requires a trip to New York state (15 minutes away) But I STILL can't find anything but rootbeer North of the Pennsylvania line!
It's rather frustrating :frowning:
Hmm...has anyone ever thought of setting up a soda/pop drink international exchange group? I know people like Andy's rootbeer barrel gets bottles from his fans; but what about for the rest of us?
There is sometimes a profound difference between soft drinks in different countries (And even states) IE: In Denmark, coke(tm) is sweetend with cane sugar, where here it is dog-shit Glucose-Fructose. I have a can of Japanese coke that I may try one day too...I wish I could read the ingredients :p
-
Cane sugar is sucrose, which is a glucose-fructose disaccharide. The proportions are slightly different in corn sweetner.I agree that European Coke tastes different than North American Coke. They modify the recipe to appeal to local tastes. For one thing, they use less carbonation in Europe. For another, it's hard to find a really cold one over there.
-
Birch Beer! And I like anything made by Boylans. Especially their black cherry soda.
-
Where the fuck was I???I do think it was in Vegas. There is a Coke place there, they sell several differnt types of coke, all those meant for each country in the labels of intended country.Coke tastes different every where ya go.Looks different too...Ill stick to the coke I had in the 70's and early 80's before new coke came out and I dont think that coke calssic tastes the same as the original either, close though, close enough for me to drink it. Course I dont really know since I dont have a can of the old shit next to it to try and how long would it be before it went bad and tasted like ass anyways?cant store the shti forever, drink the jap coke or keep it forever, dont keep it for years and then taste test it.
