Okay so here's the scoop. On Saturday I (a female) went to the doctors and was diagnosed with a sinus infection. I went home, got antibiotics, and slept. The next day my boyfriend came down sick with a stomach ache and diarrea. (We don't live together.) That night I was feelng better (and had 24 hours worth of antibiotics in my system) so I went over and hung out with him to celebrate new years. Some small pimples seemed to form on my lips which became very chapped. I stopped off at the local hospial and asked if it was serious and a nurse said no. When it struck 2007, I performed oral sex on my boyfriend. We've been together for over 3 1/2 years and have not had intercourse. About 8 hours later his stomach ache was gone but his urine burned. The rest of the day was fine but that night he noticed two unusual red bumps on his penis. It's been days since and they (as in the bumps) haven't done anything. I've gone to the doctors and am currently being tested for herpes. Does it sound like my boyfriend has herpes? What are some other possibilities? We're a bit nervous. Thank you!!

Red Bumps on Penis....

Hard to say without actually seeing it. Sounds like he's definitely going to need antibiotics for the "needle urine" though. Sounds more like an STI to me.Just so you know, even with 24 hours of antibiotics in your system and you're feeling better, you've still got the infection. It takes longer than that for it to go away.

Thank you. I don't know much about the antibiotic stuff... I was told it's just not contageous.
Thank you so much! As an update, the boyfriend is going to be seeing the doctor tomorow morning.
I really appreciate the reply!

I meant UTI. Sorry about the confusion. Hope everything turns out okay.

It's good that your bf is seeing his doctor. I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV, so I don't know what infections the particular antibiotic you are on will cure and, of course I don't know whatever other infections (if any) you may have. However, I do know that you can't transfer a sinus infection to his penis. If he does have an infection, and the doctor will tell this, it's unrelated to your sinus infection.

Just a side note regarding antibiotics - if you didn't already know.It is REALLY important to keep taking the full course, even if the problem seems to have gone away. Otherwise, the bug can still remain in the body, and when it comes back it will probably have built up a resistance to the antibiotics and therefore be far worse to deal with. The full course is designed to completely kill of the last traces of the bug.

Yep, sinus infections aren't contagious from what I've gathered in medical research.

Update!Hey Everyone! So if you remember the story, I had some sort of breakout on my lip and my boyfriend got some sort of breakout on his penis after we engaged in oral sex. I thought that since many of you had taken the time to read this, I'd take the time to keep everyone updated.I was blood tested for herpes and had a culture of my lip done and both came out negative. My boyfriend has a culture taken on the bumps on his penis and those tests too came out negitive. All in all, we still have no clue what happened but we're not as paniced as we orginonally were. Thanks for all you time and attention!

Thanks for the update - that's good news.
