Ok so I was thinking tonight and wanting to post this topic for some other people to think about. I have had ADD my entire life (I was diagnosed in 1st grade completley based on the fact that we didn't have tests in KinderGarden lol) any way I got to thinking and realized something. When I was together with my previous fiance I was not on any medicine for my ADD and I never once ejaculated while having sex with her, and that was quite often. However with my current fiance I have been taking Adderall XR and have had success ejaculating durring sex with her. Although I recently decided to stop taking my medicine and I have not been able to ejaculate since I have not been on my adderall. So I was wondering if anyone here could help me out and giving me any information on if I can tie my poor sexual performance off of my perscribed medicine to my ADD or if even the worst cases of ADD would not be able to effect someones sexual performance or agility to ejaculate durring intercourse.WhoDeyP.S. ejaculating while masturbating seems to be effected the same way, I can still ejaculate when not on any medication but takes a very very long time while masturbating. Thanks all

IDK why, but I felt bad that no one posted to you. I don't know enough to help you, except to say that it all adds up.If you go back on does it fix the problem? You could also talk to your doc he might know.

Hi hun. I really do not know the sexual side effects of this medication. But I did find this: Quote:SIDE EFFECTS: Trouble sleeping, nausea, diarrhea, upset stomach, dizziness, headache, nervousness, loss of appetite, or weight loss may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor promptly. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: vomiting, stomach pain, fever, unusual weakness or tiredness, mental/mood changes. Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: unusually fast heartbeat, blurred vision, uncontrolled muscle movements (e.g., tics, tremors), change in sexual ability or desire, chest pain. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. I found that information here: http://www.medicinenet.com/amphetamine-dextroamphetamine_extended-release/page2.htmI would talk to your doctor about it. My son took Adderall and I really did not care for it. He now takes Focalin which has worked wonderfully for him. Perhaps your doctor will switch you to another type of medication since this side effect seems serious. Good luck!

thanks for the replies but i'm not sure if it is a "side effect" of adderall since the only time I am able to ejaculate durring sex is when I am on adderall (not saying i couldn't with other meds i just haven't taken them). I was wondering if someone could have ADD in such a way that their mind wandered with out them knowing it therefore making things that need to be "in the moment" more difficult.

From what I do know of add, it really makes sense that you can't ejaculate if your not on the meds.
Everything else is more difficult to complete right? So if you can't stay in the moment during sex then your not going to be able to reach orgasm. I'm a girl, but if I have other things on my mind, orgasm is very difficult.

What the above poster said seems like a logical explanation. On the funny side though, your a champ without them!!!!

"Bullydub" the funny thing is that indeed I am, you know that ex-fiance I mentioned, well that was in high school and we would skip school every once in a while and stay home and enjoy the day if you know what I mean. We had many 1 hour + sessions and as you know I NEVER got off with her. She didn't seem to mind but my current fiance can't or dosen't like to go that long so it's not of much use to me lol.

how much were you taking? I only take 10MG and I'm considering lowering it to 5, I stop taking it every few weeks to make sure I'm not addicted. and when I didn't take it for 2 days I actually jacked off more :P. not much of a difference though, if this has gone on for longer then a week talk to your doctor.edit: first off, ADD does not cause you to get distracted from reaching an orgasm, seriously. there really is no biological proof of ADD anyways, my mind is just really over active and I get lazier of I'm off my medicine and I don't really stay on the same project for as long, but that's really it. I've been diagnosed with ADD so I know how it all works, adderall XR and other medicines are just different combinations of the same medicine . . . they all have amphetamines (to my knowledge.)

Quote:I've been diagnosed with ADD so I know how it all works,Everybody who has ADD has a different experience. How can you possibly know how it ALL works? The orriginal poster seemed to have issues with focus to the point that he wasn't orgasming. Please don't discount other's experiences, because they are different than yours.(For the "old post" misers, I KNOW! )

Your symptoms are "anorgasmia", but it is tough to know the true cause. May be ADHD-related, but may also be something else, like prostate trouble, or nerve-related, or pyschological (but unrelated to ADHD).
You should see a doctor about this, because it will probably continue to be a problem if it doesn't get addressed correctly, whether it's emotional or phyical.
And if it IS a prostate problem, you don't want to let it go undiagnosed.
If you can last a long time in bed, that's great if your partner likes it, but YOU are missing out on an orgasm and that sucks. Also, sex can get pretty painful for a girl if the guy pumps on her forever. At some point, the friction will do a number on her sensitive vaginal skin.
When sex results in no orgasm for 1 partner and pain for the other, it's time to consult an expert. You deserve a true, informed, PERMANENT solution to this problem.
