My girlfriend recently got a couple patches of bumps on on the top of her vagina where pubic hair is. Her dermatologist says its possible that it is HPV, she burned them off. I have never had any bumps on my genitals and recently when we broke up, she slept with someone else. I was wondering if, when HPV is transferred, the same string of it causes the same symptoms, meaning, if she has warts, shouldnt i develop warts? Are the symptoms based on the string of HPV or the reaction of the person's body that receives it? Thanks

Question about HPV

There are many type of HPV. The strain she had causes warts. So if you did get infected, you would also develop warts. However, I have read that from the time from infection to the eruption of warts can take anywhere from a couple of months to years later.

wow, ok thank you, I just have never had any symptoms and I was wondering if she got it from me or if she might have gotten it from this person she slept with. The only thing that worries me now is that we did have unprotected sex after she slept with this guy but before she broke out, so I guess Ill have to wait to see if I get anything.
