i have had about 3 periods and im starting to use tampons, i used to have horrible periods before i started to take birth controll and my mom says that their suppost to regulate now becuase of that pill, but like when ever im using a tampon it fills up really quick, when should i change it? sorry i didnt no where to post this so yea
-
When do i change my tampon? im kinda new to this
-
If it's saturated then yes you need to change it.
_A tampon needs to be changed every 4 to 6 hours or when it's saturated with blood. Because you can't see it as you would with a pad, you'll need to remember when it's time to change, or spotting and leakage will occur on your underwear. _

yea but like every time i put one in it either fills up fast or slow, never the same. can i like feel when it needs to come out
-
Yeah I can't help you there since I'm not a girl. There are different size tampons for different flows... Usually it's heavier in the beginning then tapers off.
-
im kind of scared to use a bigger size though, and somtimes when i put them in it hurts and other times it dosnt is that normal? The tampon brand im using is the new sport kind, should i switch brands?
-
I defer all other questions to the women......
-
Well I ain't a girl either but I would say,,Establish what is the QUICKEST it has ever "filled up"If this is say, 3 hrs, change every 3 hrs regardlessYou may also want to discuss with your gyno/doctor if the birth control medication you are on is the best one for you.Feel free to correct me here girls if this advice is wrong or needs adding to
-
i dont think i have a gynotologist, and see the only reason i have to take birthcontroll is for my face so i can go on acutain so i dont think it matters what kind, maybe im rong though
-
Most of the time, the bigger the tampon, the more it's supposed to absorb. It's going to be a little uncomfortable inserting the bigger tampons in since you aren't used to the size, but it shouldn't be painful. Perhaps you are tensing up while putting the bigger one in. And what sdp said about how often you should change them is correct.
-
see when i put them in i usually dont put them in far enough, and i think thats why its uncomfortable, and is the bigger tampons like biger or just fater or both
-
Yeah, if you don't put them in far enough, it'll be uncomfortable. You're supposed to put them in until your fingers touch your body. It will be in correctly if you can't feel it at all.As for the bigger tampons, they are usually a little bigger than the regular. They are designed to absorb more blood. They are slightly fatter, but not any longer in length. They aren't fat enough to make you feel uncomfortable, though.
-
You're supposed to put them in until your fingers touch your body. Just to add..I think that only applies if you are using an applicator. If you are not using the type with an applicator you need to push it in deeper with your finger.
-
I never seen the ones w/o the applicator. I thought all of them had applicators
-
O.B.???
-
I don't use O.B. I feel so out of the loop.
-
Now don't you just feel silly having a guy inform you about feminine hygiene??

I think everyone pretty much said it all. but i just wanted to say i normaly change mine just whenever i got the bathroom. that seems to work out pretty good for me.
