Easy.. Jump off a bridge and see if you fly.. and fart and I'll tell you if I can see a rainbow... ready?? Your rebuttal has no relevance as you are talking about something you can physically grasp, but this conversation is about spirituality, something you physically cannot see or touch.

Unforgiveable sin

That isn't right at all. There is no proof that I could possibly offer that will be accepted by you. For thousands of years every scientific discovery has been spun into God's great work. The rising Sun was once attributed to gods, but when we discovered how it really worked, the story changed and it again became God's work!Religion offers no proof, no evidence. Only feelings, unsubstantiated claims that can be faked as easily as a fart noise.

People need to start taking responsibility for their actions instead of trying to push it on other people. No, I havent missed your point. You didn't make much of one, and you didn't listen to mine.Since you don't know me, you can't possibly assume I wouldn't voice my opinions offline. Because I do, and I have. People that know and like me, respect me for that. If that makes me an asshole to you, then may I be the best asshole you'll ever come across. No gay pun intended whatsoever. That comment was posted, and respect for other posters ensued when I read their replies. Everyone starts off with a small amount of respect with me, then it rises or falls. "No! God is good" doesn't make me respect someone more, as much as it makes me laugh. Comments such as "Jay, I don't agree with that because [insert non imbecile opinion]" is fine, I'll respect that persons opinion.I stand by what I said. I struggle to imagine how a devout Christian would be offended by THAT remark if they 'knew' otherwise - if someone is offended by me, an anonymous internet user, saying something like tuna cunt - then they ARE some form of imbecile.

Maybe my power of flight, and rainbow farts only occur when they want to - just like miracles. Maybe you won't be around when I start flying, or when I have a rainbow fart.

So bob.. when your friend helps you from something tragic in your life.. say your girlfriend broke up with you.. youre friend doesnt go out and kill the bitch.. they are there.. they listen.. and comfort..Just because god isnt physically with me.. doesnt mean hes not there. When I go to my best friends grave.. shes not physically with me.. but I know shes there.. i cant see her.. but i can feel her.

Quote:You have very selfish opinions. You've got a false sense of elitism because you believe in something I've more sense not to. Well if I change my mind when it's too late, I'm sure I'll be content with my VIP pass into Hell. I'll get to burn out with The Big D himself. So my opinions are selfish because i believe in the exact opposite of you? Well, your opinions are very selfish. You have a false sense of believing. I guess I just have more sense to believe.
-
Well thats completely different. When you break up with your bf, your friend is physically there. They are sitting right beside you, or they are sitting physically on the other end of a physical phone line. They are talking back to you. They are assisting. Whether what they say or do is helpful to you in any way is completely personal to you. When you go visit a friend's grave, again it is in your head that she is there with you. Yes, her physical body is there, 6 feet under your feet. But anything more than that is in your head. Anything you feel is in your head.
-
hey steph, it's hard for people to understand where you're coming from if they've never experienced it. shoo I wouldn't believe half of the things I've gone through with Him if I hadn't experienced it. just look at my sig lol
-
i never started a heated discussion like this on a2a before im so proud!
-
I was the catalyst.
-
Paedophiles get joy from mutilating the bodies of children. People who have never experienced that joy will never understand it. I have never felt that joy nor will I ever want to.
-
Congratulations, and thank you! I'm having a lot of fun!

No, selfish because it seems your main motivation for following Christianity is a place in Heaven. Isn't there more to Christianity than saying "lol ur goin 2 hell"?
-
I won't even attempt to decipher that comparison you just madeI also find it interesting that after not too long ago there was denying of the ridicule of "Christians" yet that action has already been surpassed
-
Its quite simple really. Just because in your mind something is right, something makes sense and something could not be evil because of the joy it brings you and others like you, it does not mean that it is a good thing. And again, I am not ridiculing Christians. I am questioning Christianity and Christian beliefs.
-
and you're comparing a spiritual being to a pedophile?? that makes perfect sense. and thank you for using your sig to once again prove my point.
-
No, I am comparing the similar belief that something is right simply because it gives joy and pleasure. I am not calling Christians paedophiles (altho I do have personal experiences), I am saying that joy is not justification. And in regards to my sig: If about two thirds of medical practitioners didn't believe the same delusional fantasy that religious people do, you people would be found insane!

Since you don't know me, you can't possibly assume I wouldn't voice my opinions offline.Nowhere did I say you didn't voice your opinion off line. I was simply directly your quote about how it's okay to offend people because it's on the Internet.>I struggle to imagine how a devout Christian would be offended by THAT remark if they 'knew' otherwise Could it be because you are trash talking someone they love? You cannot fault someone for how they feel. Just because someone gets offended does not mean that person has doubt, it simply means they were offended. Your whole response that if a person gets offended at someone trash talking God, than they must have doubt is ridiculous.>That comment was posted, and respect for other posters ensued when I read their replies. As well as disrespect from Christians who took your comment offensively. Point being Jay I don't dislike you or have disrespect for you... I simply dislike your comment, which in my opinion was just said to fuel a fire. Sometimes there are comments we keep to ourselves, especially if they are words of hate or if they are offensive. But I guess I was taught and listened when I was told, "If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all". Though in truth if attacked I will defend myself and that goes out the window LOL. Okay I'll move on I am rambling again... >then they ARE some form of imbecile. Again ridiculous. Because you say offensive material and someone take offense they are the imbecile... just doesn’t add up to me.
-
right.. and yet Christians are the only ones to be singled out from other absurd religions like Scientology that don't even require prayer. you're right it makes complete sense
-
Because Bob let me ask you... How is me believing in God affecting you personally? Why should you care so much on who or what I worship? Because I'll be honest with you Bob, I can care less that you don't believe in God; it doesn’t affect my daily life. For someone who doesn’t believe in God, sure has a lot of interest in people who do.>There is no proof that I could possibly offer that will be accepted by you. That was kind of my point. There is no proof that I could offer you that you'd accept either. Which makes the whole debate moot. People just need to respect each other and their choices in worship or lack there of.And I'd just like to give my opinion that I think your and Jay's Sigs are extremely childish. They don't offend me; I just think it's sad that two people who have such intelligence would sink to childish behaviors. And I do mean that in the most honest and sincere way.
