i've had my period for about 3 years now (im 14) and i normally didnt use a tampon.more recently i've tried, but the last time i did, the entire time i was walking around i was so uncomfortable and it hurt when i moved or sat a certain way.even when i iput it in, i couldnt go in too far because it hurt too much.so i went it the bathroom to take it out, but i couldnt. it hurt so bad to pull it out that i started crying. it felt like i was ripping the insides of my vagina.i dont know if i was inserting it wrong, or if something could be wrong.any help or information would be helpful.please.

Tampon during period
-
They need to be inserted deeper and I wouldn't recommend them if your flow is very light.
-
p.s. it hurts to put them in....and....i have a really light flow so i guess i probably shudnt use them.
-
If your flow is light, then I would just stick with pads.

it hurts to put them in Perhaps you aren't doing it right.. Also there are tampons called slenders or something like that which are thinner and are primarily for young girls and beginners. What king of applicator is used on the brand you have? There are ones which are made of plastic which make insertion easier.

There are brands that make really small tampons, called Junior Absorbency. They are much smaller around.Do you make sure you sort of insert it towards your spine, not just straight up? If you hit your cervix it can cause a great deal of pain. O.B. brand makes tampons that don't have an aplicator, but they are shorter, they made a huge difference in my period comfort level. New tampon users think they are gross because you have to put it in with your finger, but thank goodness hands are washable.Even with a lightish flow, if you don't leave it in long enough it will be dry coming out, and that can hurt too. Once you get one in comfortably, try leaving it for at least a couple hours, it will come out much easier.

It does sound like it was not in far enough. Did you try your foot on the toilet trick?

The few times I used them, it was uncomfortable. I didn't put them in all the way. You should look at the directions, there is a sorta diagram that shows you how far to put it in. You know how the applicator has 2 sections, you will end up inserting all of one of those sections in you and pushing the other up so it pushes the tampon up in there. Then after you take out the applicator, you shouldn't feel it, just feel the string hanging out.
If it really hurts when putting it in, then use a smaller applicator, like the junior ones that other people have talked about. Or try different brands. I like the ones with the curved tip that are plastic, they slide in easier. Hope you get it figured out. -
I think people already said it but, if you can feel it you probly dont have it in deep enough. And if it hurts to take out you need to go to lower absorbance or leave it in longer. Just make sure you dont leave it in too long.
