American Beauty I saw it when I was 12 and I just loved it. I watched it over and over for a few months and I got something new from it every time. When I was younger I used to be quite uptight, a bit of a square. But I just saw Kevin Spacey, so relaxed, so happy, and I just learned to chill. I may have taken it a few steps too far since I can't seem to be motivated to anything, but I like the little hole that I'm digging for myself.

I wouldn't call them life altering but Crash, and Dead Poet's Society kept me thinking.

I don't know that I am that much influenced by movies that I see, as far as changing me in any significant way. I guess the one exception might be 'Longtime Companion'. It's a film that came out in 1990 that dealt with a small group of gay friends in the early days of AIDS. What it did for me, as a straight kid, was to help me see that, despite what you can argue for or against about homosexuality and AIDS and all that, the disease was killing people. And whatever else you wanted to say about these guys, they were people who were dying these painful deaths in the midst of social, and sometimes family isolation. And they were leaving behind friends who were heartbroken and crushed over the death of their friend, just like I was when my friend died. Movies like that make it really hard to put any kind of moral or social difference between yourself and someone else who is suffering. I'm thankful it did that for me.

Life ALTERING OR CHANGED MY THINKING?the original blakc and white of mice and men. I saw it when i was a kid, the whole scene about putting his dog to sleep (shooting it) has stayed with me all these years, let the dog die with dignity, but not the man who has to grow old and suffer and cant be put out of his misery.12 angry men, If you havent seen it, go see it and I think yo can figure out why it had an effect on me, I saw it when I was about 12, maybe 13.To Kill a Mocking bird, I saw the movie before I read the book, the scene with boo at the end, and when atticus puts the dog down onthe street with a single shot, the kids find out shit about thier dad they never knew... That one made me think, still to this day makes me think about people I know and dont really know what they have done or are capable of. I also saw it about teh same time as 12 angry men.The original Lord of the flies, the entire film, anothe I saw before I read, about how fast civilization falls to gutural instincts and chaos.Im sure if I thought about it I could come up with others but those ones always seem to come out first when talking lessons from film.

I see your Crash and Dead Poets, and raise you "What Dreams May Come", and "City of lost children"
Like others are saying, not life changing; but they all made me have profound thoughts.

I forgot what the movies were called but two movies that changed my thinking was a documentary on Brazil specifically the city where some of my family lived and still lives. Just learning about the history and dangerous lifestyle and you know just realizing how fortunate I was to be born and live in America as opposed to not going through the same thing. And another movie was a documentary on South Africa. Cried the whole time but it changed my thinking for sure.

Gusherthe first squirting porn I ever saw. I was 18.I spent years on a quest until I finally found a chicky that could unload her sweet spray onto me.Actually, I know that I have been affected deeply by some movies over the years but, strangely, nothing is poping to mind. One scene does come to mind though. I don't remember what movie it was but there was a graphic depiction of a rape in it. It very suddenly moulded my feelings on rape. Before that, even as I was a virgin, I would have fanticies about raping (no intentions, just thoughts). After seeing that scene, the idea of rape became so repunant to me that the mere idea of it makes my blood boil with a desire for vengance agains the perpratrator.I can't even role-play rape with a willing partner.
