Quote: The democratic candidates, Clinton and B. Hussein Obama, are both MarxistsI won't even try to counter your reactionary, nationalist, right-wing propoganda. It's not worth my time. That kind of ideology is common in our neck of the woods. You made a subconscious choice to refer to Obama's middle name: you're trying to rally anti-Muslim/Arab forces in this country to be wary of Obama because his middle names screams Muslim or Arab identity. The likes of Fox News and conservative talk show hosts have done it. Too bad it's not working. You refer to Obama's past as being "sketchy." Should I dare mention that Reagan got married more than once? Should I mention that Bush was a habitual drug abuser before he found that mythical creature named Jesus? And as far as referring to Democrats as Marxists, isn't it the pot calling the kettle black when you refer to liberals as not being tolerant? Once again, you're using inflammatory language to characterize a group of people who don't agree with you. And, what you view as Communism/Marxism is not it's original intent. I'm by no means an advocate of both ideologies. Those dictatorships that called themselves communists were purely authoritarian regimes that used violence to squash dissent. Originally, communism was a economic ideology; not a political one.

Obama and hilary both suck

"whiteboy"lmaoyou are exactly what the rest of the world sees when it looks at America. white, rich, xenophobic, right wing zealots.A vocal minority that obsures the diversity of a great nation. It's sad.On a happy note, I just heard that the Kennedy political dynasty just put it's support behind President Obama. The Clintons must be pissed!! lolI look forward to witnessing the tide of change. It must be an exciting time to be American... at least for most of you
-
that would mean that they'd have to stop bickering like children and play nice together in the sand box!
-
First of all, I AM tolerant to your views.
I'm not tolerant to anti-Muslim remarks and ignoring my opinion because I'm a minor.I believe that we should support who we really believe in. I would never be angry for someone voting for the person they truly believed that person would truly help the country. I will ask for support for Hillary, but all I can do is ask.
Again, let me say that all the examples you have given of communism are not true forms of communism. They are twisted totalitarian governments with the mask of communism.
What scares you about the idea of some communistic/socialistic ideals? What scares you about taking ideas that work in other countries and apply them to our own?
We must change to improve. Our country is only 200 years old and should be constantly changing.
The real scary thing is that we have become so distant from other countries that were are friends not so long ago and that we don't know why we're in Iraq. It scares me that we are pushing away other religions, other life choices, and becoming so narrow-minded.
Taxes are inevitable. And tax increases are inevitable when hundreds of billions of dollars are spent in a pointless "war" in just a few short years.
The democrats in this presidential race want to change the make up of our country. We need to pull out of Iraq, fix our economy, and change our government so something like this doesn't happen again.
Republicans and their ideals aren't bad...but many have become crooks and supremacists over class and religion.
It just isn't government.

Quote:Thanks for your sympathies, and for the damn that I might give about what somebody in another country may think of me purely from what I say on a website. there in lies the irony, my friend. It was a total ignorance to what people in other countries my think of the US that lead to oh-so-surprising attacks of 9/11 and so many Americans left asking "why do they hate us?"There is a responsibility to having the largest economy and the largest media in the world. You have to understand both the effect you may have on those around you AND the fact that you are constantly on display for all to see.

Because you tend to be making the very most ridiculous statements about Communist Revolutions, I'll be responding to one of your posts, though there is something I'll have to correct on Felix, as well.First off, Germany. This is towards you, whiteboy, and Felix 12. Germany was a Fascist nation during Hitler's reign, much like Italy (as well as an attempt in Spain to get Fascism). They were most certainly not trying to copy Communism. Fascism means that everyone is subservient to the state, and that the state is what is important, not individual values. Socialism is governmental control over the means of production and spreading the wealth. Communism essentially has no government, everyone automatically gets equal wealth, and no government is needed. And whiteboy, maybe you should read your little wiki link about East Germany. This is the first sentence: "The German Democratic Republic was a socialist state created by the Soviet Union in the Soviet Zone of occupied Germany and the Soviet sector of occupied Berlin." Hmmm, what does it say there? It was occupied by the Soviet Union, a Totalitarian Socialist Government. Germany run by a German government was never Socialist or Communist. There has never been a true Communist state, only Socialist. Now, onto your ridiculous claims that the Communist and Socialist Revolutions were the cause of all the deaths. Do you even know what Russia was like in the beginning of the 20th century? Apparently not. The Tsarist government was oppressing all but the bourgeoise. The first revolution in Russia (during this time) occurred in 1905 and was completely peaceful. It led to Bloody Sunday, which was a massacre ordered by the Tsar on the protesters. The next Revolutions wouldn't happen for a while later, in 1917. The first was the February Revolution, which succeeded in causing the abdication of the Tsar and the creation of a Provisional Government, which would be temporary until a Constituent Assembly was formed so that a Constitution could be made (for Democracy). However, Lenin, through political manipulation, combined with the slowness (or so it seemed) of the Provisional Government, gained power for his Bolshevik Party and eventually put his party in total party through the October Revolution. The resulting civil war was not because of any fault of the form of government, but because of conflicting interests and general unrest. The general unrest is what caused massive deaths, as well as conflicting ideas, not the form of government. In all cases of Socialist governments, the means of governing have been totalitarian (complete control of everything by the government). Because of the precedent set by Lenin and Stalin, later Socialistic governments planning to become Communists used this means as well, seeing as how successful it was for Russia, which was a very powerful nation during that time period. This way of governing is what caused the other deaths, not the fact that it was Socialist. If you're going to argue about History, gets your facts straight, whiteboy. Now, onto your racism. You're basing your whole entire opinion of a certain type of religion/race because some radical fucks, who don't represent the majority of them in any way shape or form, did something that almost affected you? My sister was in London at the time, and you don't see me being a bigot and hating muslims because they happen to look similar to those radicals, do you? No. Unlike you, I'm not radically intolerant (a feature found in those who committed those acts). Also, Felix, maybe you should do a little more research about people paying taxes. I know loads of people who pay taxes and still have very very difficult lives. Just because someone can pay taxes does not, in any way shape or form, mean that they are fine and dandy. In my opinion, raising taxes is not the correct way to go about getting money to these underpaid people. I heard about this idea from my History teacher. Basically, it's an income cap. It's not that you can't make over X amount of money. What it would mean is that you can make X times the amount of money of your lowest paid workers. If something like this were implemented, major money-making bosses would either have to do something like lowering their income a substantial amount and giving the rest to the government, or they could raise the income of those who work for them, which would also make it so that they still made more money than the former. I'm pretty sure bosses would go with the latter.End rant.

Christians only have the tendency to go on massive religious genocide. And notice I said race/religion? If only you were in any way open-minded, you would know what those radicals did goes completely against their religion. They're using God as an excuse in the exact same way that the Christians did during the Crusades. Then stop saying that Germany in and of itself was not Communist. In the case of the early 20th Century, the Russians killed each other. It wasn't just the Communists. During Stalin's rule, it was the Totalitarian Government that killed the Russians, not the idea of Communism. There's a huge difference, one which you don't seem able to understand. And, from where I stand, as well as most of the people who have read this, you're one of the least sane here (or at least educated and open-minded).

He he, actually, it was Alice in her own dream. (Though I am only thinking of the cartoon, not the book.) Ironically, that is even more fitting of this discussion, don'tcha think?
-
HA, I used to pay good money to hallucinate like Alice.
-
Backward, forward, outward, inward Bottom to the top, Never a beginning There can never be a stop...Such an appropriate song.Haven't you and I had this discussion before?
-
Twinkle twinkle, little bat...
Yes I think we have! No time to sit no, time to chat, I'M LATE, I'M LATE I'M LATE!!!
But I wish you a very merry unbirthday just the same!

"...it's a religion. They have a tendency to blow things up. Other groups don't have that tendency. Not Baptists..."If we're going to judge a whole religion by the "tendency" of it's most extreme elements to commit acts of terror, can we then label Protestants as untrustworthy as well. They have a "tendency" to blow up abortion clinics and murder doctors. Further still I've seen 'em celebrate the death of gay individuals that were "living in sin" or rejoice at the death of scientist who dared defend evolution. So, should not all Christians be untrustworthy? Or is it that you know a few Christians that do not believe as those I mentioned and therefore know better than to cast them all in the same mold.

Perhaps the Walrus and the Carpenter would be better anology for this thread. The sun was shining on the sea,Shining with all his might:He did his very best to makeThe billows smooth and bright--And this was odd, because it wasThe middle of the night...."I weep for you," the Walrus said:"I deeply sympathize."With sobs and tears he sorted outThose of the largest size,Holding his pocket-handkerchiefBefore his streaming eyes."O Oysters," said the Carpenter,"You've had a pleasant run!Shall we be trotting home again?'But answer came there none--And this was scarcely odd, becauseThey'd eaten every one.
-
I got my encheladas put together, so I thought I would just mention...
Hillary can't suck that much....or Bill wouldn't have been out gettin' it else where!
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.Sigh...politics!
-
The Walrus and the Carpenter were always my favorite.>>>"And this was scarcely odd, becauseThey'd eaten every one.Sigh...politics!""The time has come to talk of other things,Of shoes - and ships - sealing waxOf cabbages and kings!""Let us talk of graves and worms and epitaphs... And tell sad stories of the death of kings."There's got to be a good lesson there germane to the thread somehow.
-
Cider,I appreciate your history lesson and you're correct.I was a little mixed on Germany.BUT,I do not agree with your tax theory. I believe that we need to stop the tax breaks we are giving to the rich and that would increase federal income a great deal.Sigh, whiteboy do you not realize that in the 12th century (I believe) the Christians went on a massive crusade killing massive amounts of Muslims and other non-believers. Every religion has its violence, but it only takes a few to cause a catastrophe like 9/11. Those people were radicals and in no way represent the Muslim community as a whole. Just as the radical abolitionists did not represent the entire Republican party during the civil war.Not trusting Muslims is still a form of discrimination whether it be based on race or religion.
-
It wasn't a tax theory per se. It was more of a way of distributing the wealth much more evenly instead of taxing people and giving money to the poor, some of which don't even try to get jobs.
