My girlfriend and I were a little inebriated last night, and in the heat of the moment had unprotected sex. I am definitely aware of the possibility of her getting pregnant, but I want to know what are her chances of pregnancy? She has had her period all of last week and it ended this past sunday, so that would mean we had unprotected sex three days (maybe four) after her period. I am worried sick right now, because I can't even get her a morning after pill due to her having a heart condition that would be affected by the pill.

A huge mistake...

I had thought that ovulation begins (usually) 14 days after the period. I don't know really, but I'm freaking out hardcore. She can't take the pill or the morning after pill like I said because she has a heart complication, and I don't know what to do...

Sigh... i just have a question, lets say she's not pregnant; What do you plan to do in the future to keep this from happening? something effective?

Not for nothing, but why is everyone making assumptions? I use condoms with her regularly. It just so happened that we both just didn't use one last night. And I don't blame her. Are you freaking kidding me on that? If anything it would be more of my fault than hers. All I wanted to know is what the possibilities are here. I love my girlfriend. I'll be supportive of her until the end, but I'm worried even more because we spoke about this before and she isn't exactly all for abortion, and I don't think she or even I would enjoy the idea of adoption either.

No one can give you probabilities.. There are people who plan a child and have sex at all the right times and pregnancy doesn't occur. Then there are those who aren't planning it and avoid the riskiest times and it happens.

Well I guess that's the best solace I'm going to get. :frowning:

Unfortunately so.

I wasn't asking how to prevent unplanned sex. I asked what my chances were for pregnancy. And when I say regularly, I mean I've used a condom EVERY SINGLE TIME with the exception of last night. Again, please don't take this as rude, but I have enough stress on me at the moment and it really doesn't help the situation for other people just to think that I was being a douche and not careful. Last night was the one and ONLY time I have ever had unprotected sex. I just wanted to know my chances, and I guess no one can really answer that.
And as for your comment on how I'd feel if she really were pregnant...I never gave my opinion on that. I just said I'm freaking out and am worrying. That doesn't imply that I'd get mad at her, or drop her, or any of that. To say that would be blasphemy to me. I love my girlfriend. I'm not a child, I really do have feelings for her that go above and beyond anything, but neither me or her really need a child in our lives, considering that we're pretty young.

When there is sex every day to make sure sperm are around at the right time, the chance of pregnancy in a particular month is about one in three. Clearly in your case the chance would be a little lower, but how much lower is impossible to guess.
