about a month ago I found out my gf cheated on me and since then I havn't really had a "meal" per say, like for a few days all I had was a peice of toast in the morning, or after a few days of not eating nothing I'd maybe have a small lunch (like subway or some thing) and since then I've lost about 20 pounds, I weighed bout 145ish and I am now down to about 123, I really have no appietite to eat and I never had ashma before but I am finding it really hard to breath today and wondering if thats due to the weight loss?

Depressed and losing weight.. lots

You have to look after yourself! Either start eating properly or get yourself to a doctor. You are worth it.
-
Even if you dont feel like it...eat! Its good you have realised this problem though..hope all goes well =]
-
If you don't feel like eating...drink a protein shake or something. (smoothies, yogurt, stuff like that)

When I went through my big D a couple of years ago I went to the doctor and was concerned about the massive amount of weight I had lost. He told me to eat anything I wanted and not worry about healthy or not. Basically the thinking was that you should eat something so if there's anything you will eat, eat a lot of it.

LOL damien is divorced!!?? I missed something!! I was reading this, and wondering...cause it was me several years ago...Graves kicked in. I guess I was predisposed to it, but the stress I was going through kicked it off. Graves is a thyroid mostly problem, but causes depression and changes in eating and sleeping patterns.Just a thought.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. The "Big D" was a big depression, not divorce. But I guess I could understand why a person would connect the two.

I was teasing about not knowing. I knew it was depression, but divorce was the first thought, even though I know some of the history.I also want to take back the thyroid thought. Mine just went undiagnosed for so long I wonder how many depression cases are related to similar things. Mine is not an uncommon story though.

I just figured it out! When I went to the doctor during my depression, he wanted to test my thyroid. Now it makes sense why.Thanks.

Unfortunately our emotions and thoughts can sometimes have a powerful affect on the body. Hopefully this is only temporary, if not, then it's time to see the doc.
